North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I just can't see myself paying $30 to watch a movie at home.

My neighbors and I just watched Bad Boys last weekend because it finally went down in price from $22 to $6 on demand.

And even there he paid for it and it was 5 of us watching.

I don't trust the on demand revenue stream. Add that to the fact that making it available there will allow high quality bootlegs to be available sooner too.

Add that to the fact that the point of going to the movies is to get out of the house.

AMC might have some leverage

Exactly. The vibe of the audience makes the viewing experience better.

Some movies I skipped until it was online and I regret not watching in a theater.

Universal is basically competing with AMC and every other theater by offering VOD. They are getting the best of both worlds.

I get getting in your feelings about it, but AMC should’ve just held that L in silence :francis: posturing and making a big public deal of this will have more people opting to watch at home than they might’ve otherwise

Yet people payes for trolls.
Most people will pay for convenience.
VoD era has begun.

Big releases lose 50% of gross to the theater, they keep all that now with streaming options
Think about how many movies come out per weekend though.

You save money on promoting Bloodshot, but you lose money on the promotional money of Spidey or Endgame.

If studios aren’t honest about what they expect to make money and what they know is crap. Maybe VOD will work but it would also signal to audiences that a movie is crap.
