AMC Theaters are banning Universal Pictures films

I just can't see myself paying $30 to watch a movie at home.

My neighbors and I just watched Bad Boys last weekend because it finally went down in price from $22 to $6 on demand.

And even there he paid for it and it was 5 of us watching.

I don't trust the on demand revenue stream. Add that to the fact that making it available there will allow high quality bootlegs to be available sooner too.

Add that to the fact that the point of going to the movies is to get out of the house.

AMC might have some leverage

I watched Invisible Man on PVOD, paid ~$20 and I loved every moment of it.

fukk a theater experience, no more having to pick the slow parts of the movie to get more food.

Studios owning theaters sounds good in theory until you have to go to 5 different theaters, because WB won't play Disney films and Sony won't let Disney play Spider-Man, so on and so forth.

I looked forward to PVOD coming so it was only right that I supported it when it came. It was less about the movie and more about a step towards what I believe is the right direction.

Typically vod distrivuters pay for the right to stream the content, im sure if they do get a cut it will be less than the 50% avg
