This crossing has no gates. Gates/flashers are determined more less by how many cars that crossing sees per day and a few other factors. Other than that a basic stop sign is what you get.

If you look closely he doesn’t have a stop sign. The road that he turned on to does.

It could be someone stole the stop sign. If Amazon doesn’t have a policy for their vehicles to stop at railway crossings then that brother can sue the railway/county.
I’m not a civil engineer but based on the videos from both angles ( and living next to a train track for 18 years) it looks like there were no visual obstacles on either side of the crossing.

It looks like he was trying to beat the train

While that may or may not be true. I can definitely say that by law, he didn’t have a reason to stop.

That doesn't make any sense.

All you need is a regular license which he clearly has. This could have easily happened in his personal car also, the fault is with the local govt who do not think it is important to have safe roads.
if your job is to drive all day then you need to be able to be aware of your surroundings.

if his damaged hearing is inhibiting his ability to be aware of his surroundings then he shouldn't have a job where he's driving around all day.

So people who wear glasses shouldn't drive for a living either?

Post the front view

It actually makes sense why he never saw the train coming.

The road curves into the train track and there is absolutely no safety barriers to let him know the train is there. Yeah he could have heard the train but if you are use to driving in cities etc. when a train passes the safety guards are there so you don't go through.

He likely never looked and assume the road was clear.

That man is about to be rich lol.

You look at the street view and the area, that road he's coming out of is a long driveway to someone's house.

Train is going at a high rate of speed and the absence of a crossing barricade makes me think this was in a rural area. How was the train not blowing its horn thru there tho and he not hear it?
