WASHINGTON, DC
According to the Washington post the union will challenge mail in voting and how amazon violated the law by placing the ballot in front of the headquarters.
They should

NLRB and DOJ need to investigate this as it’s probably illegal

This warehouse is in Birmingham which is one of the most progressive cities in the south

Also most of the employees there are black and vote Democrat

y’all looking at this wrong

take the propaganda with the this is how these people provide for their families and fear of retaliation or losing their job is real
1,100 people voted and only 400 voted for a union.

This is why these scumbag companies keep winning

This is going to be appealed to the NLRB because Amazon engaged in "unfair labor practices" or ULP.

This election will likely be overturned and a new one commenced - or the board will force Amazon to start bargaining with the union.

democracy :ehh:

The people have spoken... why appeal it?
Nothing about this was "Democratic" but you already knew that.
Because with decent enough marketing, you could convince the populace to walk right
into a volcano.
It's shocking how stupid the American populace is.
:pachaha:
Educate them first.
Then redo the vote.
It's a lot more than just "marketing" though that has played a major role, its also the vehement and frequent anti-union propaganda that each of the workers is bombarded with - which existed long before the campaign, but intensified as the campaign has worn on.
If your employer threatens your livelihood, its an effective tactic to make you vote against the union.
:ehh:Not everyone wants to be part of a union or have unions interfering with their livelihood, going on strikes and shyt.
I'm sure more people don't want to be at risk of workplace abuse, being fired without cause, not having the ability to go to the bathroom while working, have their wages cut, etc.
It’s Alabama. Working class whites, even a lot of the ones in unions, are against unions thanks to years and years of Republican efforts. It is what it is
More than just this, most of the anti-union sentiment has its basis in anti-union propaganda.
Collective bargaining is inherently popular, but once you're bombarded with either explicitly anti-union media day after day, or pushed toward some bullshyt "independent, rise and grind" ideology that has no basis in reality, things start to slip.
People in Alabama aren’t the brightest
Union campaigns are shot down nation-wide, has nothing to do with them being in Alabama.
:what: how is this even possible???
A lot of illegal practices by Amazon and an intense anti-union campaign.
According to the Washington post the union will challenge mail in voting and how amazon violated the law by placing the ballot in front of the headquarters.
This 100%. And they'll likely succeed.
Something tells me bamas dont wont to be associated with Bernie Sanders on anything
This has absolutely nothing to do with it.
American unions(in general) are racist, bad for growth, bad for market performance, and tend reduce the number of jobs.

Glad they loss... would have been a tragedy for that warehouse to close and those workers to go from whatever wage they are at to zero.

...if you believe unions or anything else is the only solution, then you are wrong.

...staying employed is smart.
Corporations are vastly more racist than "American unions."
Collective bargaining clearly isn't that bad for growth, market performance, or number of jobs in the countries with high union density.
All I see there is a strong market, a happier, healthier, and a more supported population.
Unions are the only solutions to fight back against exploitation and workplace abuse.

Yep. Once progressives came out for it, it was dead on arrival. The south don’t get down like that.
Had nothing to do with it.
Its better to simply not post anything than to pretend you have any idea what's going on when you don't :dead:
This all comes down to marketing. You can sway MOST people to your side with good marketing. Same way a better more qualified person running for public office can lose to someone with half of the experience but with a bigger marketing budget and better marketing strategy.

If you are coming at Amazon you cannot half step. They will be on their game guaranteed.
Marketing and hardball tactics.

Alabama doesn't deserve nice things.

This isn't surprising. :unimpressed:
One of the Blackest states in the Union, gerrymandered to hell, doesn't deserve nice things?

Apparently the workers there are 70+% black and majority women. :francis:

This.
Has nothing to do with "conservatism."
Amazon used illegal tactics to push out collective bargaining.
This has been proven both successful and sustainable nowhere...
:manny:It one of many ideas that are great but not viable
Do you know what Mondragon is?
Google it.
