Amazon defeats Alabama union effort
Apr. 09, 2021 11:10 AM ETAmazon.com, Inc. (AMZN)By: Brandy Betz, SA News Editor1 Comment
  • Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) now has enough votes to defeat the union vote at its Bessemer, Alabama, fulfillment center.
  • The National Labor Relations Board has counted 1,600 "no" votes and 660 in favor out of 3,215 ballots cast. There are over 500 contested ballots but those would only be counted if the results were too close to call.
  • Yesterday, the NLRB said America's union system is "broken" and accused Amazon of taking advantage of that situation with its anti-union marketing push.

Alabama doesn't deserve nice things.

This isn't surprising. :unimpressed:

Honestly, I would venture to say even without a massive campaign against unionization in this case, it still would have failed.

It’s the victim culture of conservatism, really. They would rather complain about what’s happening to them, than to actually do something about it. It is easier to have grievances than to allow a mechanism that makes them “equal” to their peers to fix. The hopes to be the oppressor one day outweighs the opportunity to stymie the tool of oppression.

The best way to deal with it is to ignore any stories about Amazon worker treatment in Alabama.

Now was the chance to make business pay and these toothless cacs said no. Unbelievable.

Americans are some of the most easily misled people on the planet they are like children. I guess these Amazon workers are fine with wearing adult diapers on their breaks to pee and shyt on themselves rather than have decent working conditions like you know, using the bathroom.

Amazon warehouse workers skip bathroom breaks to keep their jobs, says report :what:

These are the idiots that vote Republican too.

American unions(in general) are racist, bad for growth, bad for market performance, and tend reduce the number of jobs.

Glad they loss... would have been a tragedy for that warehouse to close and those workers to go from whatever wage they are at to zero.

...if you believe unions or anything else is the only solution, then you are wrong.

...staying employed is smart.

No.
I believe workers owning the means of production is the solution.
Unions are a start.
And frankly, Americans are fukking racist in general and they will do dumb shyt that'll
stagnate their companies performance anyways.

Didn't we do a thread in higher learning which focused on just how much
money and productivity has been to LOST To racism ?
Especially in a country where MOST of the workers have no representation whatsoever ?
Union or otherwise ?

Labor NEEDs better representation, full stop.
And "people are racist" is not a strong enough argument against Unions imo
