So they don't like their work environment but they're voting against the one thing that's going to fix the situation.

American unions(in general) are racist, bad for growth, bad for market performance, and tend reduce the number of jobs.

Glad they loss... would have been a tragedy for that warehouse to close and those workers to go from whatever wage they are at to zero.

...if you believe unions or anything else is the only solution, then you are wrong.

...staying employed is smart.

There's a direct correlation between the demise of unions and the middle class.

Stupid and cowards when it comes to standing up against rich people

That's because rich people are Gods in this country. We worship and are infactuated by the rich. We want to be rich. We want to dress like the rich. We want to eat like the rich. We want to fukk like the rich. We even want to exploit like the rich. And we justify this exploitation by maintaining a belief in our heads that one we'll all be rich, even in the midst of being exploited ourselves.

Also I don't want to demonize all the rich here. They're people just like you and me (some of them at least ). I am just saying our society is obsessed with the lifestyles of the rich and famous. This is the end result of what happens when hyper-individualism is taken to its extreme.

I have seen this before YEARS ago. So this tells me that companies are very very good at spinning this in their favor. Which makes sense.

When I got out the Navy I got hired by Sony at a plant they had making rear projecton tv's and flat screens. This plant used to be Volkswagen years ago. When it was VW it was of course unionized. So when Sony took over people in the area naturally assumed they could unionize again.

Sony was dastardly in their approach to this. They bombarded media with their message. They totally drowned out the pro union crowd by running constant commercials. They took out full page newspapers ads. They had guest speakers on local talk radio. They also ran full half hour ads on talk radio. They even infiltrated the pro union group. Had 4 of their own agents causing internal havoc within the pro union group. Basically they were trolling. Putting out misinformation. Pitting people against each other. Straight up lying.

It all worked. This pro union town voted AGAINST a union. :mjlol:

It’s Alabama. Working class whites, even a lot of the ones in unions, are against unions thanks to years and years of Republican efforts. It is what it is

This has nothing to do with Alabama seeing that Amazon has warehouses everywhere and they’re not unionized

Amazon has a lot of money to push an anti union message

and most importantly, a union strength is tenure of the members. Amazon has too much turnover for all the workers to be on the same page

This all comes down to marketing. You can sway MOST people to your side with good marketing. Same way a better more qualified person running for public office can lose to someone with half of the experience but with a bigger marketing budget and better marketing strategy.

If you are coming at Amazon you cannot half step. They will be on their game guaranteed.

Because with decent enough marketing, you could convince the populace to walk right
into a volcano.
It's shocking how stupid the American populace is.
:pachaha:
Educate them first.
Then redo the vote.
As they should

They had cameras and anti union messaging around them.
Thread on some of Amazon’s tactics:
