people are still clinging to the cell phone argument :mindblown:

a video game console and a cell phone are not comparable, brehs.
a game console's primary function is to play video games.
a cell phone's primary function is to be a mobile phone.
apple meet orange.

if my phone isn't connected to wifi my phone still works. if my xbox 360, ps3, and wii hasn't been connected to the internet for 24 hours my consoles for the most the part still work. :mindblown:

btw....what happened to the dap?

Don't loose your Internet connection, your acting like games don't need updates and new shyt. Plus offline is limited.
I never unloosen my etherner jack from the modem. :troll:
I never once said games don't need updates, look at Halo 4 having to be updated for better online. :troll:

And?? the games would be hampered if they didn't have a constant connection and we probably wouldn't stan Uncharted 4 when it comes out.
Uncharted 2 was great without online connection, it was GOTY. :troll:

It was only optional if you didn't want to read the words on the screen
Sit closer. :troll:

:whoa: I'm no dumbass. You're missing the point. The question is would you purchase an Unsubsidized PS4 so you wouldn't have to deal with DRM? Or do you think they should offer a bunch of different versions with a bunch of different plans?:mjpls:
PS4 is no phone so this doesn't happen. If you can't afford PS4 and Xbone, get two jobs. :troll:

I'm buying both, I have no reason to Stan either. I just thought I'd have a discussion on this "discussion board"
I'm buying one, but not that "one". :troll:

No, breh, you don't have to deal with it. Do more than "talk about it online". If you learn more about it and you don't like it, then vote with your dollars. Don't buy an XBOX One, and you won't have to deal with it.

It's a PUBLISHER decision. Will you just not buy all the games that have the requirement?

TYRONE GA!
you can't use any of the current gen systems, phones, tablets, computers 100% without the internet, friend...why is the xbox one any different...because it's an xbox?

Lies. I travel for a living doing consulting work and I've been to some hotels where the Internet was so weak I couldn't get online on my ps3. Guess what... I could still play it offline.

Yup. Where I work at, the internet is so slow. I get like 1MB down and could barely connect. At least if you manage to connect once, you can play your games. :troll:

It's a lame decision. And no, it's not a publisher decision; you're thinking about used games for the Playstation 4 console, not the "check-in" feature required by the XBOX One.

Here's a scenario for you:

We're two years into the next gen. Everything's been smooth. You go to bootup Call of Duty: Redundant, but your modem is dead, or your router has gone bad, or your high-speed internet is down, or XBL is down, or whatever. For whatever reason, your internet isn't working at THAT minute. Now, two years into this generation with a daily check-in means 700+ check-ins to Microsoft over that period. You've verified yourself OVER 700 times; you're in good-standing. But today, you can't check in, so today in Microsoft's eyes, you're a criminal.

It doesn't matter that you've verified yourself time and time and time and time again. It doesn't matter that you've bought their latest and greatest, and paid for every game with your hard-earned money. All that matters is that today, you can't prove to us that you're not a criminal so today, your console is a brick.

Buy XBOX brehs.

There are plenty of mobile Internet options. If its something that's important to you, you will make sure to have it.

They will deal with it..u know why? because it's sony and the ps4. They will also tell you that they don't borrow games nor do they share their ps4's with anyone else so it's not an issue...

Same thing I do with every other game that I've played that has DRM.

Same thing I did with Kings Quest in 1994 when it required me to "Input the 47th word on page 28 of the manual."

I'll play it.

This isn't about DRM; you're mistaking my DRM points for something... else, I dunno. DRM in some form is just part of the industry; has been since I was a kid.

What hasn't been around until now, is the assumption that I'm a criminal until proven otherwise, every single day. What hasn't been around is manufacturer control of consumer goods (even though their EULA may have said otherwise). What hasn't been around is "big brother" in my living room.

Edit: Unless it sucks like Uncharted 3, then I'll prolly skip it.

No it's about DRM. These guys for the last few pages have been cleverly interchanging DRM for always online. :snoop:
