Absolutely. I agree about politicians and corporations being bedfellows. I just don’t see where a reckoning is going to come from because workers have so little leverage. If you look back through American history, people tend to quit and look for new jobs during economic recoveries because the option to find something better is there. History has proven, that doesn’t last forever though. Looking long term, as I mentioned, I don’t see where workers have the leverage to facilitate ‘a reckoning,’ when you consider automation, outsourcing, immigration etc. We live in a capitalist society. You need money to survive and thrive. You cannot just not work or hold your nuts on every employer, especially if you have dependents or a lifestyle to maintain. Unfortunately, corporations are well aware of this.

I do think workers have a lotta leverage right now and it's showing with the lack of people being able to fill jobs and these corps having to pay more. System can't run without the worker bees no matter how much you pay these execs.

You see it and other people with sense see it. It's already happening but too many mufukkaz too consumed with goofy SM shyt while these foreigners are grinding and about to leave yo ass out in the cold. Mufukkaz here don't know what it's like not to have like these foreigners do. They about to pull the carpet up right from under people.

Man I did a show talking to these immigration lawyers, and they were saying that so many foreigners are waiting for visas to get in the US to do these jobs that Americans flat out aren't prepared for when it comes to education.
Govt. basically holding spots for them.
And I also suspect thats another reason pay aint increasing, companies figured out that they can use the migrant farmer model and apply it to the most educated from other countries. Pay shyt for Americans but its great to those from other countries

corporations may pay more but consider with rising inflation those gains are in many cases completely eroded. again, unfortunately, I do not believe there is much leverage for the American worker long term.

Lol this makes no sense. What’s the incentive? It doesn’t excuse them not working at all, but why? People need to repent of their sins to the most high who goes by Ayaha. Humans can’t govern without greed and corruption every single time.

what do you mean it makes no sense? People need to work to make a living, that's the incentive. Right now these kids have the safety blanket of mom and dad to fall back on, but once that's gone things will get real.

History repeats itself and there will be huge crisis and more wars in the future. You think in other countries every job pays you well? LOL. It's not easy making money, but you have to. Be smart and look for ways to earn extra money, if you sit and wait someone to give you more money it ain't gonna happen. Majority of the world have shyt jobs.

The youngest generations barely have any values they wanna live for. Many young generation people can't even tell what kind of career they wanna have. That's how you get indians or chinese taking over the jobs cause they lived in their shythole countries and know they are doomed without a steady income. Don't like your job? Go find one that suits you, or enjoy immigrants taking over the jobs and having more rights than you, cause they work and you stay unemployed looking for excuses.

Even the immigrants are ghosting their jobs due to shytty COVID protocols from America and lack of flexibility from working, standards. Even illegal immigrants are walking away from fast food work now, which is why places like McDonalds and Walmart are shutting down by 8pm on a Friday or Saturday night.

The old world you are thinking from pre-2020 is now dead and gone.

People are not going to have kids again until, conditions change for the better. Even Amazon was forced to UNIONIZE in NY and paying their truck drivers 80k a year now.

Stop with the narrative that people gonna have kids and force themselves into shytty work conditions. That old world mentality is now gone.

it's easy to have this attitude if ur living with your parents and have no responsibilities.

when u got kids and people that depend on you, u cannot adhere to this entitled mindset.
this isnt an entitled mindset. generation of people are refusing to be exploited. if the generations before us had this mindset we wouldnt have to pay 1400 for a 1 bedroom apartment

My job been giving raises left and right. Ppl coming in the door in our lowest levels making some good $$$. Just 3 yrs ago a chemist 1 at my company started at $18 an hr now they up to $25 an hour. Temporary employees starting in logistics make 18 an hour now. I been here over 10yrs and in the last 2 yrs they've bumped my salary up atleast 5 times. They want us happy and productive and I got no problem with that.

A lot of people don't want to do that anymore. People don't want to work hard and be promoted. This is the generation that was rewarded for just participating. To them, doing the bare minimum should be enough.

Most of gen Z are complaining while working retail or entry level jobs, they haven't even been in the job market long enough to be this jaded.

I agree with this. The problem with these conversations is that you have to separate the lazy bums and entitled folks living off their parents from the folks that actually want to work and better themselves. Any type of success takes sacrifice and there will be competition. Thats the nature of capitalism. For you to win someone has to loose. That aint changing anytime soon so folks better get with it or get left behind.

The reason why younger folks also feel this way is cause in America you can be poor and live comfortable due to all our social safety nets. If those ever go away you will see attitudes towards working change really quick. 1st world struggles are nothing compared to 3rd world struggles. America isn't guaranteed to be a 1st world country forever. We have fallen behind many countries already.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I don't know what TheColi is going think of this story, but I work with a Gen Zer. She's a good worker and we work in a pretty stressful environment. To provide a little backstory on her, she moved to NYC to go to school and then her dad died suddenly and that happened right when the COVID pandemic started. She came back to TN for a while in 2020, and then in 2021 she moved back to NYC. I'm not sure what happened in that span of time, but she came back here at the end of 2021. I know she's been going through it with anxiety.

She came back from a week off (she called it her birthday week :rudy:) and she was already complaining to me about how much she hates to be here, hates to be back, and wants to quit. I'm literally standing there thinking to myself, "You just got back from a week off, you've been here for a few hours, and you're already complaining? :what:"

I've worked at many places throughout my life that were just as miserable, frustrating, and grueling. Idk if I'm just built different and able to adapt to stressful work environments or if I've been living a life of missed opportunities most of my adult working life and had a chance to take more time off, kick back, and chill like she does.

For the record, I plan on looking for another job later this year too, but for now, I'm just enduring it all until then.

The most exploitative aspect of the economic system is how workers are taxed to death to fund the lifestyle of able bodied people who choose to not be productive and not to work.
That’s not true at all lol, only about 7-8% of taxes goes to ‘safety net’ programs. The most exploitative aspect of our economic system is clearly CEO’s making hundreds of billions of dollars at the expense of the deteriorating middle, working, and lower classes. But go on caping for rich people and continue thinking the poor people on welfare are the problem. :mjlol:

I thought I meant they need blue chip jobs like being physicians or something.
