How Allen Iverson Managed To Go Broke - Business Insider

If he wasn't broke... then why did they have to seized his bank account to pay a creditor?

The man spends almost half of what he makes in a year in a month.

How come his home went to foreclosure if he is not broke?

Iverson has been living above his means for a while. You forgot he would take his whole entourage on the road. Iverson never stopped spending so much money after he was out of the league.

Report: Allen Iverson not broke, after all - NBA - Sporting News

Though Iverson's insolvency was assumed by many when that news broke last month, the New York Post's Peter Vecsey, through "a person with a firm grip on the situation" reports that Iverson has an account worth $32 million that he cannot access until he turns 55 years old that feeds him $1 million annually.

You mean rich people always pay off everyone they owe money to all the time? No, I think this is more of a forgot to/didn't want to/don't wanna deal with it type of situation. The fact they seized his bank account, means he actually has the money to pay it. They didn't seize his assets or anything.

So he didn't want to pay his creditors, bills, and home?

His lavish lifestyle is catching up to him.

Why is he even attempting to make a comeback? His ass will never be in the league ever again. He's too good to play in the D-league? If he wanted to be in the league that bad he would've taken the Mavs offer.

So if you can't pay your creditors, you keep spending millions when you're not even making a million a year, and your home goes to foreclosure then you're not broke? :krs:

Are people saying he is homeless and has no money to his name? No, but he is broke when you talk about celebrities.

There's actually A LOT of celebrities who have fit this description over time. Not "can't" pay your creditors as much as "haven't"/"don't" pay your creditors.

And how does he keep spending millions if he's broke? One of these statements must be false, correct?

He moved into another mansion. Who knows who he wants to pay and who doesn't, he isn't bankrupt either.

Again, how do you know the D league offer was with legit intentions? It's very possible it was just an attention grabber to sell more tickets for the squad. Remember that bs soccer offer? People know they can get their names out there is they make any old offer to AI.

Stop acting like AI would put people in the seats. I didn't see him sell out arenas when he was with the Grizzlies. He is Larry Holmes status...

If you would pay money to go to a fukking D league game, the fact that AI is there would probably make you go :ohhh: let's check it out. It's not the same thing as the NBA where there are other stars.

Oh and btw when he returned to the sixers they all of a sudden started having sellout crowds again.

What's most sad about this is just how fukking valuable AI could be to a team coming off the bench....

Bullshyt.

If he was still good... teams would give him a tryout by now. He is not worth the headache anymore because he is washed up.

AI Fans. :sadcam:

Teams weren't picking him up because he insisted on starting for some odd fukking reason. They just gave him an opportunity to get back in the league and he turned it down.

You mean to tell me you wouldn't take AI right now over Chris Duhon?
