Iverson has nothing to prove in the D Leagues. Celtics need to just pick him up. They gave Marbury a chance didn't they? :manny:

AI is smart

he know that goin 2 the d league is a bad move for him .. because at 37 he could easily b mad to look bad against certain players who are just quicker n smarter then him in better basketball shape ..

if it doesnt pan out all of us will be like wtf .. but realistically that is closer to the truth.. He also knows he probz aint in the greatest shape.. u think this guy is sittin round shootin basketball n workin out on off days .. ???

if he holds out and gets a 10 day contract in the nba and it doesnt work out .. we will say o well thats it its the end no harm done .. but coming back before hand in the d league with a risk of lookin foolish against lower level players is to much for allens pride 2 take ..

i reckon if he is passed over by all teams this year .. he will have a look at the d league next season and be like i just want to play .. it aint about the money .. but allens fd up ego has him thinkin its 2003 still and he has alot of value //

his best shot is boston ..with rondo gone and the fact thewy rolled the dice on steph ..ainge might make dat call

the other problem is AI aint someone who can play just a role position - he still wants 2 b the man.. comin off the bench he wouldnt have th e option of jackin up a million shots like back in the day when the system revolved around him .. now he would have to work in a system .. and ol boy just dont do that never has n never will

Iverson really doesn't understand how to turn something he views as a negative into a positive.

It really is sad to see. If he were to accept his role, join the D-League and make it to the NBA it will help the league establish that the D-League is a legitimate option for those who really want to play. He would have the option to be the spokesperson after his playing days are over too...because he is not going to be an announcer.

Why should they give him a 10 day contract? Is he entitled to a 10 day contract because of what he did years ago?

What if a team offers him a camp invite to training camp next season and he says no again?

If he wanted to finish his career so bad he should take advantage of any opportunity he gets. A million players would die for the opportunity to show case their talent in the D-league and you have AI taking that shyt for granted.

And for the people complaining that the Mavs are just using him to sell tickets... isn't that part of the business that players get paid to play and help sell tickets so the owner(s) can make a profit on their investment?

A camp invite is different than a D-League offer. And yeah i think at the least he deserves a 10 day contract. What harm would it do. Either he's finally prove that he's finished, or he shows he has something left.

They see me trolling, they hating.....
The D league offer is disrespectful

I could understand if AI had been sitting on his ass doing nothing for all these years.

But he has been bussing his ass in Turkey and China so the excecs already know he's in shape and can still get down.

D league offer is a slap in the face. AI shouldn't accept anything less than a 6th man role on an elite team or a starting role on a bummy one.

 @ thinking T-Mac is there by choice. He would toss your salad to get an NBA contract again.

Marbury would just toss your salad.

:hmm::hmm:

you mean the same marbury who turned down deals and 2 potential rings from the celitcs and heat in consecutive years?

yall keep going for the okie doke. be my guest.

do u forget he went to turkey and couldnt last more than a few weeks

you mean injuries?

the other problem is AI aint someone who can play just a role position - he still wants 2 b the man.. comin off the bench he wouldnt have th e option of jackin up a million shots like back in the day when the system revolved around him .. now he would have to work in a system .. and ol boy just dont do that never has n never will

iverson never said he wanted to still be the man. he wasnt even the man in denver, as he had no problem deferring to carmelo in what was arguably the best offense in basketball during that stint.

also, he has come out and said multiple times that he would come off the bench for the spurs & celtics, but the media swept those comment under the rug quick. and theres alot more teams that he would have no problem coming off the bench for now. this whole idea of iverson wanting to be the man and not wanting to come off the bench is media propaganda and they pulled the whooly over the eyes of alot of you.

iverson's situation was no different than ray allen's, but ray allen(who is not a 1st ballot hof'er like iverson, btw) gets the red-carpet treatement while iverson gets blackballed.

and this is supposed to be a hip-hop board but yall in here falling for media f*ckery on the reg.
