Homie..he beat Taker for the belt in the most pussified and unclean way in history. They always kept Bret from Taker when Bret was face. lol. shyt was remarkable.

So Bret Hart was NEVER as popular as the Macho Man? Cmon man stop. They are both 2nd Tier greats. Under The Hogans, The Rocks, The Prime Flairs, Stone Cold etc....Dont sit here and act like Shawn Michaels and Bret Harts were champions in the EVERYONE gets a chip era either.

yea but savage didn't exactly beat flair decisively for the title either. he won on a roll up (AND HE HAD A HANDFUL OF TIGHTS!!! ).....

.... plus the title match happened during the middle of the card. once again proving that savage was never the premier wrestler during any of his prime years in the WWF.

i'm just sayin savage never really took it to a top, top all time legend during their prime and beat them clean and decisively for the 1-2-3. he was never on that level.

the question is would a PRIME bret hart or a PRIME shawn michales... have been able to beat a PRIME randy savage. all things considered, all faces, all with the crowd behind them.

Macho Man is no second tier nothing. Macho Man is a household name. A legend everyone knows. Bret was the guy who couldn't draw so they had to put Austin in his stead. That's the difference. Shawn and Bret had the titles because HULK HOGAN wasn't there. That's it. Not because they were always GOING to get the title.
