Mase said on the recent interview with Sway that they still plan on releasing AOI3 but they need to be able to clear the samples. It sounded like if they can’t do that it won’t be worth it

I never listened to De La, but I'm interested now that their music is on streaming. In the article @FunkDoc1112 mentioned, they said that "Cool Breeze on the Rocks" was changed. All the samples saying "rock" don't appear in the new version. It went from 50 seconds to 18 seconds, and you just hear scratching, then some game show.

"The Magic Number" apparently had an Eddie Murphy sample that was taken out.

Yikes at what was done to Cool Breeze. I need to just find the OG CD and get that shyt.

Oh word. Hopefully they can.

Sampling is the lifeblood IMO of hip hop. It keeps older music alive.

So much soul was lost in hip hop with the huge dropoff in being able to sample IMO. Lotta these Fisher Price beats don't hit because of that.
