After running through everything Stakes Is High is their best album and a true classic. They ripped that shyt.

Crazy this came out the same day as It Was Written

Changed my mind. Buhloon Mindstate is their best album.

For the OG’s is there a reason why Buhloon Mindstate didn’t fair as well as their past albums? I read an interview where the group said BM didn’t sell well and thats why they called the 4th album Stakes Is High because Lyor Cohen told them of it didn’t sell they might be done

Both albums are classics and my personal favorite De La albums but each album fits a different vibe and very few groups in music not just hip hop can compare the overall quality of their music.

Prince Paul's production on 3feet high and Rising was some incredible shyt

Prince Paul is one the best ever

I literally came in here to say this. Listening to the album for the first time, 3 Feet High and Rising had some amazing production. I just read an article where KRS-One said that not even his album was as good as 3 Feet High and Rising.

"Cool Breeze on the Rocks" is the best DJ song I've ever heard. I think it's the fact that it's not an entire song so it leaves you wanting more. You just get about 45 seconds of some great sampling. The way the Michael Jackson sample leads into the Run-D.M.C. sample is beautiful. :wow:

I used to be a 3 feet and high rising guy, but I been bumping Buhloon Mindstate this weekend.
I think this might be my favorite De La album.
Very similar to ATCQ's Midnight Marauders which came out the same year
Don't remember if I've posted in this thread before but I've gone through several phases of the first 4 being my fav De La album. 3 Feet then Buhloone Mindtstate for a long time, I think De La Is Dead is still my fav right now tho. I never really peeped the AOI albums but came back to them with Grind Date.
