The Wire and The Sopranos are my favorite 2.

Succession is terrific. Kind of hard to compare since they are different types of shows.

Game of Thrones from seasons 1-4 was up there in my top 3 favorites. 5-6 were a step down in writing and storytelling but I still liked them. 7 and especially 8 though, just turned into a rushed mess.

The second season of Friday Night Lights disqualifies it even though the seasons after it were great.

And if we’re talking sci-fi then The Expanse deserves a spot on the list.

I don't like this idea of comparing Eras , we should do shows by decades. Game of thrones was it's own Era. WE in the succession/Yellowstone/Mandalorian Era now.

Mandalorian is Cleary only selling toys now so it's out.

Yellowstone had a strong first two seasons, a hell of a season 4 premiere but then ran in place for much if it's later run.

Succession had a weak third season but ultimately best of the bunch.

The Americans is better than every show in its tier, and probably the tier above it. Classic show, Phil is a goat tier TV character, acting performance on par with the GOAT performances imo
