After rewatching The Wire, I think it's safe to say Stringer>Avon.

First watch: Stringer had a good idea trynna transition to legit ventures
2nd watch: Stringer was trynna be something he wasn't and doing too much. Smart dumb nikka taking CC courses and getting extorted by clay davis shiiiiiii

Marlo was able to fukk their whole shyt up b/c he know who he was what was necessary. His weakness was that he loved the game too much, just like Avon. He was legit hurt when the random guy didn't recognize who was in the end:russ:
That might seem short sighted but you can't be looking too far ahead when you got wolves at your door, and Stringer learned the hard way

:why:

That is why you need to rewatch the show. You missed a lot.

Did D'Angelo ever snitch? No he didn't. If he didn't snitch then he didn't fold.

IMO this is one of the best scenes in the whole series. Avon explains everything to D'Angelo in this one scene on a visit to the hospital to see Avon's dad (D'Angelo's granddad). You can see what family means to Avon in just this one scene.

IMO D'Angelo was a real one but he fukked up by wearing his heart on his sleeve. In all the situations he ultimately made the right choice but fukked up by vocalizing and showing his doubts around the wrong people (in this case anyone). nikka was thinking out loud and giving people reason to doubt and question his royalty and shyt. You can't have that in this game, it's seen as weakness. Just make your choice and act accordingly, nobody needs to know the variables and nuances that led you to arriving at that conclusion, if anything that's seen as a weakness or second guessing the fam.

There is no Avon > Stringer or Stringer > Avon.
They rose from nothing as a unit. A checks and balance.

Together they were invincible, then when they turned on one another they both fell back to nothing almost immediately.
Dead and imprisoned.

So the take away there is not 'Stringer was smarter' as many conclude at first... but rather, when you sacrifice your brother to the game, you are next. :wow:

They each needed the other.
nah Avons family was well connected already his sister and Avon discuss their uncles and shyt, not to mention his brother, Stringer was always just his right hand man

The difference between countless failures and successes comes down to who is their right hand man.

Stringer Bell would be top 5 alltime at that position were it not for him breaking the cardinal rule. He double crossed his boss. :wow:

But had it not been for the double cross I'd put String right there with the greatest tv right hand men of all time, up there with Alfred from Batman and Owen from Gargoyles.

Can't cross your employer though. He ruined his legacy. :wow:

I think Stringers biggest flaw and the reason for his downfall was that he was always a coward. He was overwhelmed and so afraid of getting jail time he was making ridiculous decisions.

Doing all that dumb shyt with Clay davis because he wanted out of the Game.

Whats ironic is Stringers biggest fear, being investigated by Mcnulty and them, came true at his own doing. He ordered Dangelos murder for no reason, then later on Mcnulty who liked Dangelo, investigated and found that Dangelo was murdered and decided to go after Stringer :wow:

Letting prop joe drive a wedge in between him and Avon, remember Avon told Stringer not to accept Prop Joes package but Stringer did anyways, when it came time to war with Marlo, Prop Joe sprung into action and crumbled his rivals Empire, by withholding the package saying he was concerned with the "violence" Stringer didnt even realize he was getting played :scust:

Not only that but his betrayal and cowardice, refusing to tell Avon that hes Prop Joes bytch now, lead to Avon seeing East Side dealers and hiring....Brother Mouzone :wow:

If only Stringer listened to Avon

Avon had courage, he was bold and Fortune always favors the bold.

Yep. But just cause some people are loyal as fukk, they cant fill your shoes when needed. So they follow blindly. Silvio is in that category to me. Same as Harleyquin is for the Joker.

They are more like yes men, not true equals.

Alfred can tell Batman to sit his ass down.

This is true.
String died without even being strapped.

Your #2 has to be about that life.

nah Dangelo was very weak and stupid and Avon was just too honorable to go against his own family so he allowed it :francis:

Remember this moron was writing sorry notes for a homicide detective investigating HIM

fakkit snitched on Weebey I will never ever forgive him for that :pacspit:

fakkit also got addicted to Heroin in prison :scust:

throwing temper tantrums at King Avon, not realizing that Avon had to go to prison himself, and trying to make life easier for him even tho its ENTIRELY Dangelos fault they were even being investigated in S1 and eventually caught

raising his voice and threatening his own mom :usure:
