Nope. We can embrace our differences and still promote unity.

Unity and focusing on similarities are the same thing, IMO. All black groups get fukked over by white supremacy but that's not a point of similarity that many of us want to focus on.

We're too busy focusing on who's had it the worst to even care about similarities to work together.

As far as the DNA testing goes, that technology is still being improved on as we speak. I know my mtDNA ancestry in Yorubaland is only one line but at least it is confirmed. My personal history doesn't start at American slavery and it never will. I will embrace both my black American ancestry and my West African pre-slavery history but you are free to do as you wish.

On another note, you have plenty of whites who embrace European cultures despite not having real DNA ancestry in the countries of origin, like the Cajun-French connection.

Whites can come together despite differences and create organizations and businesses yet some of us refuse to do the same. Sad.

At the beginning of mean streets
I only know a few Somali words myself :russ:

It's funny when people try to have full conversations with me in Somali and I hit them with the :dwillhuh:

Me too. All the old ladies grab my face and go on speaking Amharic. I don't know if she's praying for me or asking me questions. :mjcry:

My mama should have taught me. :mjcry:

Amharic is too damn hard honestly. Amharic script is extremely difficult. I gave up.
Yea its harder when the language uses a different alphabet

I mostly have problems with pronouncing the words. I have to make guttural sounds that I never learned growing up
