Tribalism, believing your group is somehow separate from the whole, is how Colonialists were able to divide and conquer in the first place. It's only surprising for those who think that color is more important than culture/nationality/personal experience/socio-economic status, which in itself is a naive and racist view to have. Just look how some white americans look down on Europeans vice-versa, hell if you've been to Africa you know that people from different ethnic groups/regions may look down on each other. Which is exactly what's been going on for centuries in Europe, why would it be different any where else or between people as culturally different as Africans and Black Americans?

We're all different meaning we're mutual strangers, meaning you will always have some people who will look down on others, because that's what they do to strangers.

It's tough being Black in America, sure, but there is great pride in some of the things WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED AGAINST ALL ODDS. Jamaicans can be proud of Jamaica, Dominicans and DR, all twisted places, but I can pride myself on being American when it's all I know and it's more diverse than those 3rd world small countries?

That's not what the user who I was replying to stated. Imperialism will not happen again because the world is already Globalized. At this point, most people should be enlightened enough to respect other cultures and still have pride in their own. I can support my Nigerian cousins and still recognize that I am an American Black with my own history and culture.

Being a black man born and raised in the states, I feel blacks in america are more biased towards africans, west indians than the opposite..

U have alot of africans ( FROM MY EXPERIENCE SO SHUT THE fukk UP ) that came to the states for a better life than they had in mogadishu and they just shake there head on why blacks here don't take advantage of a free education, pell grants and other resources that they don't have back in africa just to live a normal life even if u not making 6 figures and living in the burbs..

african girl and dude told me the shyt they went through in mogadishu and i was like damn.. really... there family getting killed, brothers force to join the pirate trade and seeing kids murder just walking to school and the cops wouldn't do shyt but get paid off and walk away.. so they come here with the urge of a better quiet life while i see majority of my folks here in the states continue to blame the system day in and day out

Yes the system is fukked up, but that shouldn't stop u from get where u going... it's like u driving home and u see the road close. what are u going to do give up and hope the road open up someday or take a detour even tho it might take longer and u have to go through some shyt, but your main objective is to get home..

Who said you shouldn't be? lol, embracing other blacks doesn't put down your own culture. It might be different for me cuz I grew up in a place where all black people were united by skin color and the societal stigma it comes with. But Nationalism has nothing to do with some sort of superiority complex toward your own kind since both sides strengthen the other, needless isolationism just because of a few bad apples makes no sense, your culture isn't the beneficiary of America but rather the byproduct of her villainy. I remember black people telling me I'm not black cuz I'm Ethiopian, despite Ethiopia being the starting point of humanity and civilization, therefore being the start point of all Black people. You don't see me on here puttin my culture over others, all of us are black and under attack by the same global system.
