Alvarez: “Whether it's a whole bunch of stories. So I don't even want to….There was some sort of physical altercation and it was broken up. CM Punk went to the ring for his match [with Samoa Joe] and did you know if you watched CM Punk as he was coming down to the ring, he looked like a guy that was irritated and that's because something had just happened and he ended up doing the match with Samoa Joe. He ends up winning the match. He goes to the backstage area immediately. There's security there and security escorts CM Punk went back to his dressing room. Jack Perry was then told to leave. He was removed from the building. CM Punk stayed in his dressing room with security for I'm not sure how long, but eventually, security came and removed him from the building. And then at the post-show press conference, Tony Khan basically started the press conference and said, ‘I'm not going to talk about this any more detail, but there was an altercation tonight, and we are doing an investigation to find out exactly what happened. And that's all I'm going to say about it.’ So, there was obviously a great deal of unhappiness. There are some CM Punk supporters, and obviously, there are a lot of people who are big fans of Jack Perry. And depending on who you're friends with, you were very upset for one reason or another. There were a lot of people that, you know, they had to wrestle tonight, and they knew all about this and what had happened. And I don't know if it affected their performance, but obviously, they had to go out there with this knowledge, and there were a lot of people upset about it.”

Meltzer: “So where this goes, we don't know. There's an investigation ongoing, and I guess we'll find out what happens here.”

On reddit the usual suspects are making excuses for Perry - like we're just going to pretend any other main eventer in the world would not have dragged him across the floor and beat his ass once all was said and done...
That sub is such a hypocritical, sanctimonious shythole. By far the most insufferable wrestling community I've ever seen. Filled to the brim with phony, corny cacs that I'm positive have the most punchable faces possible irl.

LMAO and still on reddit they defend him I'm sure...

Get sent home for being a whiny p*ssy brews...
I will admit that stage tunnel is trippy ad
The stage was extremely cool. I liked it.
I was pro-Punk on that (the real glass part), but Punk taking the “glass” line as a diss is some of the most petty shyt ever.

I haven’t seen it, but did Jack throw an actual shot at Punk? From what I read he just said some line about using real glass. All I see it is as a line to the fans letting them know since there was all that chat about it weeks ago. Now if he said, “yeah, Phil, I used real glass, bytch!” Sure, go ahead and step up.
Hard disagree on this he obviously was trying to talk shyt about Punk on camera throwing some recognition out to smarks out there. I can't think what promoter would be ok with this
When was the last time you read about Taker throwing fists over some petty shyt? :mjlol:

And I’m not talking about the past. I’m talking about what happened today. All dude had to do was put him in place and KIM.

“You got a problem with me?”

“No.”

“Next time you throw a shot on tv like a p*ssy, you and I are bumping heads.”

*leaves*

That’s all that was needed. And if Punk did do that, well, let it be. We still don’t have actual truth and there’s various reports.
This is true. The one incident I'm aware of, Taker humiliated Matt Hardy in front of the entire locker room and called him a "fukking mark" for going into business for himself and refusing to do a bump on television when Taker returned, just rolling out of the ring. When someone showed Taker the footage, he called a meeting, berated Matt in front of everyone, and Matt spent the next few months jobbing on Heat and off TV, while they moved his girlfriend Lita to RAW with Edge...(put two and two together what they did to shut Matt up)

IMO that kind of shyt is worse XD but we all forget the meme "The Undertaker tapes his fists" he was going to do business with HBK if HBK didn't do business. That story is well known...so in the end, would Undertaker have beat someone's ass? Maybe. If the situation called for it. You also see UT had the support of the office so he could berate a guy and derail his push and derail his life. Punk has a little bit of that too now, with guys getting sent home.

Maybe they will all learn now to keep their mouths shut.

Jack Perry: This is real glass, cry me a river.

Narrator: When keeping it real goes wrong.

It's funny to me how Hangman is treating Punk like Punk was treating Triple H.

"I don't need to wrestle you. You need to wrestle me."

And Punk can't get over it :russ:
Those promos were fire tho
I think the main problem ain't even the fights backstage it's the fact that the dirt sheets are so plugged in that every single thing that goes down backstage is reported.

Their access needs to be cut off and the wrestlers told there will be consequences for leaking stuff out to the press. There's no other form of entertainment that leaks this much backstage info to the press. It's embarrassing
shyt backstage happens and has happened since time immemorial.
This is wrestling.

I'd honestly be more mad at the p*ssy that ran to the dirt sheets as soon as it happened like wtf who is paying you, AEW or some dirt sheet writer? Shut the fukk up.

How many fights happened in locker rooms ALL THE TIME back in the day and we fans never heard about it until decades later???

This is part of what got Cornette heated, these guys acting like pussies and gossiping with dirt sheets. Just shut up already (not you whoever this is who keeps leaking shyt). This is not new in the history of wrestling.

I don't get scapegoating the press. You don't think some WWE wrestlers don't like each other behind the scenes and we don't hear about it? You don't think Impact running at 2% of a AEW budget doesn't have backstage problems from time to time? You don't need Daddy Pringles wallet or buying Wembley every year to have accountability and expectations for how shyt's gonna go in your own company

If it's embarrassing take it up with the ones that allow embarrassing shyt to happen, why take it out on the sheets for doing their "jobs" that they've been doing before AEW existed lol

I remember when Booker and Batista had their fight, they reported it right on WWE.com, they said what happened, who broke it up and they interviewed them and the witnesses. That story died quickly and they did the match months later with no controversy. Tony needs to provide something on the front end. Having an antagonistic relationship with the media is things that failing companies do, celebrities/politicians that fukk up, last place sports teams, etc.

No one is saying they should have an antagonistic relationship to the media. But no respectable company would give the media the access they do. And individuals would never feel comfortable going leaking as much as we see.

Bad shyt happens all the time. You think the Draymond Poole incident is the only time team mates have gotten physical with eachother? The shyt probably happens all the time. But some bench player isn't running to Woj with the info and if they are Woj probably won't report it either because he's trying to establish a relationship with the front office.

Well, when the scariest man in the room is Vince. It's pretty obvious why talent stay in line.

:mjlol: There’s fukkkery after every PPV

I wasnt online for a day and I missed this

Punk deadass has bytched out the whole elite group already :mjlol:
This.
Tony Khan puts his all into giving us quality ppvs, and ever since THE media scrum, we end up talking about everything except the matches.
Since Tony likes to be the good cop, he might need to have his daddy come to the locker room and lay down the law.
