“Currently, Cable TV subscriptions are in just 68.7 million households in the United States. That’s a decline of 34.57% compared to 105 million cable TV subscribers recorded in 2010.”The fact that the NBA with years of declining viewership is still able to command 70 billion dollar contracts just highlights how pitiful the state of cable is
Just look at the 'USA Network'. They've stopped doing scripted TV because it's just not worth it anymore. People ain't paying and watching cable anymore
If @Professor Emeritus hadn't been ran off TheColi he'd be having a crisis right nowLeGBT fakkits defend this era staunchly too. Once again Bron throws his own fans BS under the bus.

But these stupid ass cats wanna keep going on about the TV ratings.
The NBA is a viewership jugganaut. It's the most followed sports league in the world, online. It's set attendance records over the last two years. There's just a vocal minority who wanna speak the demise of it into existence because they don't like it.
The percentage of NBA fans has increased in this country since 2019.No shyt it's big globally everyone knows it.
Just like Michael Bay flicks are big overseas but it sucks ass HERE
WTF does someone in South Korea enjoying 500 3's have to do with my trash ass viewing experience and nikkas here who call it for what it is
Silver speaks about a lot of things. Sometimes they're of importance and sometimes they aren't.The fact that Silver spoke on it shows you he knows it's a problem
There's not a problem to be fixed.Trying to get an entire league to "fix" this problem also indicates that you have a far greater collective of players who simply don't know how to play any other way....cause otherwise, coaches would've installed according offenses catered to their players skillsets.

If you're admitting that it's big globally, why does your opinion of the product matter than all the millions upon millions that like the product? Does your opinion mean more than some Gen Z kid who loves today's game?
Your interpretation of today's league is yours and yours alone. It doesn't represent the whole, let alone the majority. If I were to name you 10 teams could you briefly explain to me how their offense works, or because you don't watch the games you'd be none the wiser, filling out the form repeating the words "They shoot 3s" as a description for all those teams.
There's plenty of offensive diversification around the league, you just have to watch games. It's really as simple as that.

Just because a vocal minority have megaphone'd their distaste about the current product, which has caused everyone else to take notice, doesn't mean it's a problem. All it means is that it's a talking point. What you have to understand is, there's always been complaints about the NBA since it's been legitimized as a league. The only difference is now the critiques about it are on a much grander scale because of social media, and the echo chamber effect that not only amplifies what someone might already feel about the league, but it also affects how others think too.
You might have someone that likes today's game, but after they read negative opinions about it online, they change their mind.
Silver was asked a question around the criticism of today's NBA and he answered as follows -
"The answer is yes, [we are having] many discussions about the style of basketball [being played],"
"I would not reduce it to a so-called 3-point shooting issue. I think we look more holistically at the skill level on the floor, the diversity of offense, the fan reception to the game, all of the above."
"I think the game is in a great place. I love watching the games, and I think we have some of the most skilled athletes in the world competing -- and it's unfair, I think, to the players to lump them into categories as 3-point shooters or a midrange shooter or big man playing under the basket."
"We're constantly having discussions about whether there are ways to improve stylistically the game on the floor."
"Historically, at times, we've moved the 3-point line," Silver said. "I don't think that's a solution here because then, I think when we look at both the game and the data, I think that may not necessarily do more midrange jumpers, if that's what people want, but more clogging under the basket."
"If you look at other data points in terms of our business, for example, we've just come off the last two years of the highest attendance in the history of this league. We're at a point where our social media audience is at the highest of any league and continuing to grow exponentially. So, there's not a lack of interest in this game."
I want you to read all those quotes and I want you to answer honestly if you believe Silver thinks there's a problem. Does that sound like someone who feels like they need to make wholesale changes because people are losing interest in the league?
And if that's your opinion, you're not wrong. You can psycho analyze this till you're blue in the face.
Watching a basketball game where 108 threes are shot with no end in sight is an absolutely atrocious viewing experience
Almost reminds me of the period when Charlamagne, Envy, Flex and them always were talking about (urban) radio ratings in New York like the global state of the entertainment business revolved around it“Currently, Cable TV subscriptions are in just 68.7 million households in the United States. That’s a decline of 34.57% compared to 105 million cable TV subscribers recorded in 2010.”
