Citation for that?

From the various proposals I've read, the one that makes the most sense is requiring a background check with references, where at least 2 references have to sign an affidavit that they know you well and answer certain questions before your permit is approved. One of the reasons this has a much better chance of working is that A) a lot of these mass shooters were already suspicious as fukk long before they went off, but people just "didn't think they'd go that far" and B) they're the types who don't want anyone in their life to know what they are doing. I think those two factors would have a chilling effect on at least a portion of the shootings, not even counting the ones who wouldn't have passed the mental health/criminal background checks anyway if background checks were actually rigorously enforced.

Beyond mass shootings, that would also stop a decent number of crimes of passion and especially a lot of suicides. There was a great article in the Oregonian some years ago regarding how many suicides are committed by people who just recently bought the gun specifically for that. They could "try something else", but often people are reluctant to try a different method and things like "taking pills" have a much lower death rate.

It won’t work most mass shooters come from white conservative to moderate families. they will make excuses for odd behavior and co sign the person getting a gun

TYRONE GA!
It’s not though…
Other countries never had the amount of guns in circulation we do to begin with so no “banning guns” ain’t gonna work when it’s 20 million already on the streets. To solve the problem you’d literally have to go and round up like 90 percent of the guns which is impossible. The only way to actual stop some of this stuff is by creating gun CONTROL. you want an ar 15? Well you gotta be 25 years and older and take a gun safety course and purchase insurance on the gun. That’s way better than the impossible banning guns

excuses.

It looks like we have a few a$$holes in here with the "arming more people=less mass shootings" garbage.
The fact that some of the worst mass shootings in history have taken place in deep red areas
of Texas, Tenn, Kentucky, etc make that claim fukkin ridiculous. When there's a mass shooting, the
"good guys with guns" run for the exits just like everyone else does. :camby:

People really good with this being reality in the US?

One Nation Under a Gun: Mass Shootings in 40% of House Districts in 2017

The US is off the chain with this gun shyt. That whole argument about "the tyranny of the government" shyt is stupid. First of all the military isn't gonna fire on US citizens on US soil and if they did then it's a wrap. No amount of ammo, guns or body armor is gonna save you. What it would look like is people vs police and France shows the world every other day how to riot against police.

What it's gonna take is a mass shooting in congress. When senators see the blood of their colleges perhaps they will come to their senses.

Just look at what's happening to the Crumbley parents right now cause they gave their shooter kid a gun. Those people aren't built for prison. If there were specific laws against it and you had to sign documents, the ease of conviction would get higher. Even the white conservatives get shook by that.

And even if some parents would still justify that bullshyt, you don't think that SOME shootings and suicides would be stopped? Isn't that a good thing?

I mean we might have to face reality...

.mass shootings is a way of life when you have politicians who don't want to change for a better quality of life or stand up to the NRA and their donors.

Ain't shyt gonna change..this country will continue to go down the shytter brehs and brehettes ..I try to be optimistic but then I read and realize..every empire must fall and America is on it's way to doing this shyt ourselves.
It's beyond impossible to put the toothpaste back in the tube at this point, it's would be like trying to turn Israel into an atheist country. Guns are part of American culture, we can only try to work around that and protect ourselves but chea breh, the guns aren't going anywhere.
