Clearly I think this thread isn't saying ALL indians were like "negroes"... Its possible... quite possible, for more than one phenotype to exist
These people are fukking idiots. In the Phillipines and all over southeast Asia you have negritos that are indigenous to the land as well as traditional mongol people. In India you have Andaman Islanders like the Jarawas that are indigenous to the land as well as them habibi nikkas that claim it. The black people of those lands were there first and the others came later. It's quite clear that there were black people from the Pacific islands and other surrounding areas that were native to the Americas and the traditional idea of native Americans, the mongol/siberians came later.

Next you'll have some idiot quote me just to say that a group of people that are literally named "little black people" and people from the "black islands" aren't black because they don't come from "sub-saharan West Africa".

But i think the issue some of us have is that 'Black' means a very particular thing in 2017. It's a lowkey a pejorative that we've culturally reappropriated and gave power to by giving homage to (West) Africa. Aboriginals and black "looking" people in the Yucatan don't have that same connection, nor does it seem like they seek it out.

Wouldn't it be better to place our stake in this fight around awareness of Indigenous erasure and whitewashing? Not just strictly labeling anyone with curly hair and thick lips as "black". I have a similar problem with automatically labeling biracials who got a lil bit in them black too. We (people who are ancestors of enslaved Africans) are a distinct group culturally...and genetically even at this point.

I really do appreciate this conversation though, I think it's definitely a good idea to discuss the variety of phenotypes among Indigenous people. They aren't all light tan with long straight black hair...I understand.

I don't place any stock in any Native American affairs, they not my people.

I didn't label indigenous and biracial people as black. The same white people that labeled us black labled them black.

Pocahontas Island - Wikipedia

"Pocahontas Island is a peninsula in Petersburg, Virginia; it is located on the north side of the Appomattox River. Archeological evidence has been found here of prehistoric Native American settlement dating from 6500 BC.[3] The Appomattoc tribe occupied this area at the time of European-American settlement by English colonists.

In the 19th century, this area became notable as the first predominately free black settlement in the state and, by mid-19th century, one of the largest in the nation.[4] In 1860 slightly more than half of Petersburg's population was black, and 3,224 or one-third of those people were free; they constituted the largest free black population of the time."

Some old Advertisement logos.. Notice the Dutch Brand has the word "Moor" in it? interesting.

You run with narratives and false premises like "I found bad pictures so NONE of Euro depictions can be trusted" so we're gonna need more than "every black person was a slave/descendant of a slave" .Because even if I conceded that these werent indigenous people, there are PLENTY more pictures where that came from.

Yeah racists can't tell the difference between nationalities. :gucci:

You didn't see that cac who shot and killed the Indians in the bar because he thought they were Iranians?

Or the Alabama cop who paralyzed the Gujarati guy because he thought he was Black?

The idiot marine who assaulted the Greek Orthodox priest because he thought he was a Muslim terrorist?

You tried to claim that California Indians "generally" looked like Negroes in 1874, when we have hundreds of fukking pictures to show us exactly what they looked like.

:dahell:

What the fukk are you even trying to argue?

Yeah, those girls obviously got all sorts of shyt mixed in. Point being???

My WIFE is pure Egyptian and she don't look nothing like that. Her family is Coptic, traces itself back to the 1st century. Carmel skin, beautiful black afro. Lot of variation among real Coptic Egyptians, some lighter some darker, but genetically you can tell that the ones with Coptic genes have real Egyptian background, because Coptic DNA and Arab DNA is distinguishable. Since they Christian they generally didn't mix with the Arab and Turkish Muslim invaders. The Christian community got icons going back to the 6th/7th centuries, so it ain't hard to see that they haven't changed in skin tone since at least then (though those pictures, like the European pictures, are highly stylized and aren't particularly accurate....but at least they their OWN paintings and not some cac racist shyt). When I started going to their church people started comparing me to "Moses the Black", the famous, highly revered saint who escaped from servitude to a wealthy Egyptian and became a leader of monks. So at least by the 300s, Egyptians referred to Ethiopians as Black and quite different from themselves. All the evidence makes clear that it was the same community at least back to the 1st century, but I ain't making guesses before then, though at least the rulers (from the DNA in the mummies) appear to have been related to other North Africans and Arabs, not sub-Saharan Africans.

So you saying Egyptians ain't black? :mjpls:

Estevanico - Wikipedia

They literally used a black moor to transverse the lands of the Americas, because, well, he blended in with the natives.

Estevan must have been an extremely charismatic and enterprising figure. We know from the Cabeza de Vaca account that he had adopted the persona of a native shaman“

The Mysterious Journey of Friar Marcos de Niza

So you are telling me that a black African would scout ahead in uncharted territories acting as a SHAMAN?!

That explains this:

Oh so the Cleveland Indians use to have a little black boy in underwear with a bow and arrow as their mascot? Need to research and confirm this one.

The depiction is historically accurate:troll:

I just feel like all this manipulation of history will somehow be used by whites to further discredit any of it. Once they can discredit one they’ll give reason to question any of it

Africans have been circumnavigating the entire globe since the beginning of creation, which is why wherever you go around the world til this day you'll find some indevinious people who like African.

You need to check out dr Ivan sertima "before Colombus"
This.

I'm a believer that the concept of race is very new in terms of history. You look at the indigenous people of many countries and they're very dark skinned people a lot of times.

What does that imply? I'm not entirely sure.
