never got the fascination with this overrated broad :shaq2:

she wasn't even a top tier r&b singer when she was alive

I remember I was in middle school when she first came out and the girl in the grade above me looked pretty similar to her called into the radio station and said she was aaliyah :mjlol:

90s fukkery before social media was some next level shyt. :banderas:

Rumors spreading without the benefit of everybody being on the internet like that you know it had to be crazy :damn:

This women was truly beautiful to me. I was 7 when she died, but in the years following her death. I started listening to her more. She ain't got the figure of Mya or Beyonce, but I guess I was in love with her persona? She seemed regular. Idk, RIP. :mjcry:

For the record If Amerie died in a plane crash when her song 1 thing came out this would have been the outcome.

This gotta be the stupidest shyt I've ever read.

The way nikkas go so hard against Aaliyah is weird af. I don't ever see latinos go in this much on Selena. But nikkas always gotta be critical of the Black one.

Damn fakkits.

Yea fukk you with a fist in your ass.

Not going against Aaliyah. Big fan of hers in fact. I never considered her the next Aretha, or Anita Baker tho. She was an R&B artist that I was a fan of who died. I’m not gonna put her on a higher pedestal with her being dead. The floor is yours so you go ahead and do that. :manny:

Who's putting her on a pedestal? And Hispanics put Selena on a pedestal. Why the fukk can't we put OUR fallen songstress on one if we wanted to, faq boy?

Funny considering no one has ever acted like Aaliyah was the next Anita or Aretha. You weird ass fakkit nikkas live off alternative facts and delusions.

Y’all act like nikkas can’t feel a way for a girl that died tragically before she had an opportunity to really advance her career.

Y’all nikkas legit weird af.

Left Eye died. Was arguably exponentially more impactful, was definitely more talented and she was just as pretty

why isn't she getting the same treatment :jbhmm:

you saying she doesn't deserve to be put on a pedestal?

if we put everybody on a pedestal who died just because doesn't it kind of cheapen the whole idea of a pedestal to begin with :manny:

I made a statement saying she was overrated and you bytchmade fukkbiys reacted like I was talking about Stevie Wonder or Marvin Gaye :gucci:

If you njggas is really this fragile on a message board then I already know you some hoes and can't fight in real life. Cuz all this extra shyt from you is compensating for your questionable manhood :yeshrug:

Y'all nikkas admitted yourselves multiple times in this thread she wasnt all that so dafuq you mad at me for :umad:

Black people are the only people I know that shyt on their own people. Don’t matter who or what it is. Like I said, Hispanics don’t do this with Selena. Cacs don’t do this with fukkin James Dean or Jean Harlow or any of their other folks that died prematurely at the apex of their stardom. Why nikkas the ones that gotta be critical? Makes no damn sense.

Aaliyah’s contributions to the game were extraordinary AND she was exalted as the “Queen of R&B” before she died. This is the same Aaliyah that put Timbaland and Missy on. The same Aaliyah that is called a stylistic origin to today’s “alternative r&b.” The same Aaliyah that influenced Drake, J Cole, Adele, Solange, Ciara, etc. The same Aaliyah that was in #1 movies and taking soundtracks to platinum. The same Aaliyah that was the youngest artist performing on the Academy Awards. And it goes on and on and on.

You’s a faq and should just stfu.

Aaliyah was a triple threat. She could sing, dance and act. She was becoming quite the movie star before she died. That's why her death hit everybody hard. She was ascending into new territory. Her fan base was growing. People trying to downplay her impact or trying to call her a one hit wonder are delusional.
