them awards don't mean shyt :mjlol:
everybody was getting them shyts and they're representative of nothing really, if anything label politics were more involved than anything else :francis:

Your stupid ass brought up brittany spears but I'm wondering do we really wanna compare their respective award count :sas2:

You can't be this fukking dumb

you throwing fakkit around a whole lot and you're damn near apoplectic at people spitting facts about this woman you worship who you have never met and will never meet in life. Pathetic :hhh:

now why don't you tell me about these crossover acts that "don't count" even though aaliyah's shyt was being played on TRL and pop radio :jbhmm:

If it were the NBA she'd be all NBA 2nd or 3rd team, not first :umad:

Those awards speak to Aaliyah’s significance at the time. Britney Spears was the biggest artist in the world and here you have Aaliyah, an r&b act, beating her for awards. She couldn’t have been too much of a scrub.

A crossover artist is exactly what it says - someone that has crossed over. Mariah, Brandy, Toni...these are crossover artists. Aaliyah was crossing over BUT she died before she could finish it. At the time of her death, she was strictly r&b/urban. The same way Mary J was before she released The Breakthrough in 2005 and shut the whole industry down. It’s like y’all are faulting Aaliyah for dying before she had a chance to really expand her brand. Gtfoh.

For somebody that stayed in her r&b lane, she did well for herself. What were y’all expecting her to do? Nobody has ever acted like she was Whitney or Janet status, so I’m confused. People credit her for what she was - beautiful, humble, made dope ass music, and died before she could really do anything else.

I'm not going out of my way :hubie:

I just said I think she's overrated
and I've clearly struck a nerve with you lames
get the sand out of your vaginas it's really not that deep :umad:

Overrated in what way, faq boy? You act like people put her on MJ's level.

She had her lane, stayed in it, and made dope music. YOU'RE making it out to be more than what it really was. Nobody said Aaliyah was the greatest to ever do it of all time in the history of ever.

She had the records.

R kelly/timbaland/Missy laced her career with undeniable song writing and production. songs like back and fourth, One in a million, 4 page letter, at your best and then to go out with Rock the boat:damn:

Those records would be outta here with any pretty face. Not going to act like AALIYAH was immensely vocally talented but her music resonated in a way people would die for.
I mean...:ohwellkobe:
