this is your longest post ever.

thats all the newer posters need to know about you.

:camby:

:what:

i never said they sounded the same.

clearly i was referring to the time period when he went pop.

CLEARLY.

i never said it SOUNDED like the previous two. the first two dont even sound alike.

youre another one of those guys i dont like talking to for different reasons. you have no perspective on anything no matter the topic. its like talking to a machine. look at your responses.:snoop:

2006-2008?

He was still lacing Snoop Dogg, Young Jeezy, Fabolous, Omarion, Redman, Tank, and Kanye (additional programming) with album cuts and singles. Fabolous's "Make Me Better", Omarion's "Ice Box", and Kanye's "Good Life" were huge in the Urban sector.

I'm a female.

:wtf:

you a female bodyin' dudes like this?

ive never seen a female take over a thread with such ferocity.

OWW OWW.:noah:

What it is is that you don't even know what you're arguing. Did you not say that:

You're implying that she was still making what she was making since she was 15. If that's not what you meant, clarify?

:mjlol:

making the same type chit does not equate to the music sounding the same.

no wonder you just number-crunch and post industry quotes. your communication skills are shot.

yep.

HALF-DEAD.

It goes beyond that, my dude. You have singers like Drake and Chris Brown directly talking about how much they love Aaliyah, etc. Or cats like J Cole who play Aaliyah tracks at shows, rhyme on Aaliyah beats and even go as far to base their hits on Timbaland/Aaliyah sounding shyt (Tell me "Nobody's Perfect" and that track with Miguel aren't Timbo influenced). Tinashe dealing with Aaliyah comparisons.

your lists of names are weak. you post young and/or homely names that were basically viacom kids who grew up moreso on the aaliyah propaganda machine as opposed to aaliyah herself. theres really no credibility there.

they'd all be doing mya tributes if she died instead and her label decided to push her "legacy" full throttle.

the only 'been around the block' name that you posted was t-pain. and you conveniently stopped listing him once i brought up how he snapped and told the truth about aaliyah in that video. LOL.

Highlighted was ALL FACTS. And to top it off, they were marketed to WHITE PEOPLE. Justin Timberlake was Justin Bieber. They were going to sell no matter what :dead:. And them Justin tracks were fukking wack. That dude is overrated as fukk.

And Timberland was falling off. Missy was still hot if I remember correctly but Timb was not. That is why he took that detour. And that is also why he signed Bubba Sparxxx. His camp (Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Magoo, Tweet, Jade and that singer dude I can't remember were not faring well). Bubba was being marketed as the South's Eminem and he was trying to go at Dre's success.

This was back when Jermaine, Dre and Timb ran urban music. Jermaine was still hot wit Jagged Edge, Usher, Monica, and Bow Wow. Dre had aftermath and 2001 and Eminem/D12. With G Unit next up. Timbaland WAS STRUGGLING. Not too long after that was when even Jay Z stopped fukking with him.

cosign except 2 things:

- aftermath was moreso dominant in the TRL realm. especially back then before 50 cent & game.

- youre forgetting that ginuwine wasnt really with timbaland & them in 2001. plus that was when all that stuff started happening. he dropped "my whole life" which is his mos respected hit, then dissappeared for a couple years. btw, you can argue that ginuwine was iller after than timbaland stuff. he didnt sell as much because it wasnt as commercial.

@Ligeraz is right.

mya passed up aaliyah by 2001 also.

really tho, mya/aaliyah was always the better matchup. cuz aaliyah clearly lagged behind monica & brandy.

QUOTE="SirBiatch, post: 13154408, member: 22797"]For y'all RnB heads, I'm just not seeing this massive influence that Brandy and Monica have on today's game. I need y'all to point it out. Who in the last 10 years was clearly inspired by Brandy/Monica? Specific shyt that we can point to. With receipts. From musical style to artist image (which are the key things that make an artist anyway)

You provide the evidence, I'll leave y'all alone and rock with what you're saying.[/QUOTE]

didnt ole girl answer this twice already?

how bout you point out aaliyah's influence aside from the propaganda that came after she died. you seem to only be aware of aaliyah's influence because its shoved in your face.

respected singers like keyshia cole are on record telling you the deal.

You're still failing to clarify.

How was Timbland half dead? "Make Me Better" was a #1 rap single. It was #2 on the R&B/Hip Hop charts. "Ice Box" was #5 on the R&B charts. "Good life"was also a #1 rap single.

@JustCKing You're wasting your time with Wacky D. He won't clarify. We're on page 20 and I asked him a question on page 17 he still hasn't answered. He's not built for discussion.

Wacky D, why the fukk are you even responding to the later post I made that wasn't directed at you, when I made an earlier post that was directed at you and you're still mute on that question?

Can we get an answer for that question or will you keep beating around the bush?

i didnt answer the question because:

1.) its stupid.
2.) not only is it stupid but youre mad disrespectful & condescending. and i told you about this already. if this was real life, you wouldve got trashed on site. but for some reason, you expect me to bow down and answer you? f*ck out my face.
3.) the jawn answered your silly questions and shut you down twice already.

chart-master calvin.

a few overly commercial hits that were mass-promoted.

timbaland himself even knew he was cold. thats when he starts complaining and acting as if hes above hip-hop.

No she didn't. I wish she did so I wouldn't have to entertain this annoying convo.

Besides, I asked YOU. Not her. And I'm still waiting.

You've only offered one name, and we're 3 pages in. You say Keyshia Cole? Fine. Proof?!

I've gone out of my way to provide specific claims for Aaliyah's influence with links, song titles, etc. That's what you're supposed to do in a debate.

All you and Ligeraz have done is yap, throw snide comments and hide behind smileys. shyt is getting old.

This is how I know you're a fukking moron who's coming from a place of pure emotion. When you're open to learning, there is no such thing as a stupid question. Like I said previously, I have no real stake in this. If you're right, I'm happy to agree with you. I just want some kind of logical explanation.

There's nothing more condescending in a discussion than someone who thinks it's 'beneath them' to participate. You're asked a direct question, and you don't think it's worth your time to respond.

That proves right there that you're an idiot. It's classic idiot defense mechanism.

Until you answer the question directly and with some links/proof, consider this discussion done.

lol @ "consider this discussion done" as if youve added anything to this thread at all.:deadmanny:

as for the rest of this post, when youre open to learning, you dont argue down the people that are actually in the know. then you go demanding links and all this other research project chit to stuff thats already common knowledge. niccas aint got time for all that.

and on top of all that, youre very disrespectful, yet still have the nerve to expect everybody else to be cordial? f*ck outta here.

and yes, i talk down to some of you dudes cuz i cant touch anybody thru a screen. you cant complain about the way people talk to you if youre the one throwing the 1st stones. you get respect when you give it.

and yes she did give you a bunch of names. you just didnt want to acknowledge it. like i said niccas aint got time for that chit.

You don't know shyt. You're a mental midget wasting time on replies rather than answering questions directly.

People that are in the know demonstrate it. They don't assume stuff is common knowledge, especially when such 'common knowledge' is being debated.

You're just a Brandy/Monica dikkrider, and/or an Aaliyah hater. Your comments come with zero backbone and 100% arrogance. Stupid nikkas like yourself almost always hide behind a shield of arrogance when shyt gets real. Pretend like a question is not worth answering

Like I said earlier, you're not built for this.

hey dikkhead, your questions were already answered. why dont you acknowledge them instead of asking me to play parrot.

this stuff is indeed common knowledge to anybody who was around and in-the-loop.

and here you go, trying to play the innocent role when youre the one that took it there, and youre STILL taking it there.

and youre reaching for insults because ur oblivios to the topic. I NEVER REALLY LIKED BRANDY. so how am i a brandy dikkrider? i liked aaliyah more than brandy actually. up until she died at least.

:heh: but im the one thats supposedly hiding behind a shield right?

lol. since this convo's been done, I'm just gonna bark on you for being a coward.

I ask you a question, someone else responds that isn't you (and doesn't answer the question), and you consider it answered.

Imagine that happening in real life.

"Hey you, what are you doing here?"
"His name's Lenny."

Of Mice and Men ass nikka. You don't respond because you're afraid or fukking retarded to begin with.

Ciara is not Mya. Mya actually writes, produces, arranges and engineers her music now.

And nobody cares about her now:mjcry:

But my post wasn't reffering to talent, its referring to the fact that Aaliyah managed to connect to her fans in a way Ciara and Mya never did....where singers like Mary J,Keyshia Cole,Monica,K Michelle connect and bond with they fans through hurt and man hate,Aaliyah managed to bond with her fans in another way,its a different kinda love Ciara and Mya never got....Ciara and Mya are only as good as they biggest hit,the Ciara and Aaliyah comparison doesn't take into account Ciara never had that connection with fans that Aaliyah did....its like comparing any ol street nikka that raps about the hood and harsh realities with Pac:mjlol:....and props on the Brandy mentions, nikkas forgot about Moesha:banderas:

Yes and thank you. I've been following music, esp RnB and Rap since I was a youngin. These nikkas is dumb and can't follow a logical sentence because their emotions get involved. And posting stuff from Complex is idiotic and a Billboard article that is obviously written to promote her movie :deadmanny:.

Sidenote: If Drake was truly and honestly influenced by Aaliyah, and not just riding some hype machine wave, the nikka would have actually stepped to her family/Timb/Missy to put together a proper project. Not try and sneak his way into making an album with her. It was fukk boi shyt.

And I agree with the bolded. And I will take on knock on that Ginuwine stuff cause I was never really a fan of dude. He was just in my head as a member of their camp. And you're right about that TRL stuff. I just didn't want to bring that up cause then it gets more complicated with 106 park (urban) market vs TRL (mainstream) market.

But :salute: to your posts. You put me on some game. And what was that T-Pain shyt with Aaliyah about? You got a video link :lupe:?

EDIT: I found it. T-Pain a real dude for that remark. He got balls.

funny how you came through and saved this thread. 3 pages in and you're the first one with receipts on Brandy. Watching that Jill Scott/Sevyn part now.
