Yes and thank you. I've been following music, esp RnB and Rap since I was a youngin. These nikkas is dumb and can't follow a logical sentence because their emotions get involved. And posting stuff from Complex is idiotic and a Billboard article that is obviously written to promote her movie :deadmanny:.

while you posted absolutely nothing.

Who's really the emotional one.... hmmm?

It's hilarious. I'm trying to see your point of view because I like learning new shyt. I've never pretended to be an RnB head. I'm a hip hop fan. so if you consider Aaliyah overrated for good reason, I'll probably go along with what you're saying. Problem is you think receipts are beneath you.

And you seem to be in your emotions because Aaliyah got more RnB shine than your favorites.

Sidenote: If Drake was truly and honestly influenced by Aaliyah, and not just riding some hype machine wave, the nikka would have actually stepped to her family/Timb/Missy to put together a proper project. Not try and sneak his way into making an album with her. It was fukk boi shyt.

Wow at how irrelevant this comment is. Yes it's fukk boi shyt but how is that relevant to someone saying they're influenced by Aaliyah?

We provided artists that DIRECTLY (key word here) take some influence from Aaliyah and most likely mention it.

We asked you and your wacky ass friend to provide receipts but you're both here using the same smileys and talking shyt.

Meanwhile, StillNotSoft came through and saved the thread. LMAO.

@Wacky D, you wanna know how a question gets answered? Look up StillNotSoft's post.

I'm a female.

I don't think you understand how lineage and musical influence works. I've listened to all those people. And in this thread we WERE talking about overall influence which included, style, fashion, cultural impact, reach AND MUSIC. Now he aren't anymore because you don't have a leg to stand on :rudy:.

Those artist I listed have careers that are the mold of Brandy and Monica. I listed Whitney and Mariah because those are the artist that Brandy and Monica came out of the mold from. Can you follow the logic now?

And for the record, I'm not surprised Drake and Chris Brown non singing asses WOULD site Aaliyah as their "influence." But just like those dikkheads, just because you say that is an influence I don't hear none of that "influence" in their sound or in their image, style, cultural impact. Damn ya'll must lap up whatever bullshyt these people feed you instead of thinking, looking and listening for YOURSELF.

And I just gave you Monica and Brandy's children and you acted like it wasn't real :heh:.

And I will give you Tinashe being an Aaliyah contemporary in that she is a pretty girl which minimal vocal ability and limited dancing ability that is banking on dudes wanting to fukk her and woman wanting to "look" like her. Not much there to be honest. She is the run of the mill artist we were talking about. She is Ciara and Aaliyah so I'm not even arguing that. :pachaha::pachaha::pachaha:. You are proving my point and you ain't even know it:jawalrus:.

I never said she wasn't influential just NOT AS BIG AS PEOPLE CLAIM HER TO BE after her death. She was average with a good sound that happened to go out of style. And yes I do like some of her songs but I'm able to be non-biased where I don't think most of ya'll can.

Hold on,you cant say you going based off what you hear when it comes to influence and then cite Brandy and Monica as the children of Whitney and Mariah:comeon:....the only child in that equation based on what you can clearly hear and see would be Mariah being Whitneys child:manny:...Brandy and Monica have both spoken about how much Whitney influenced them though, not sure why you would need Mariah as an influence if you have Whitney....end of the day Mariah will always have the respect of vocalist.

People don't seem to like the fact Aaliyah was loved for reasons outside of her singing ability and performance skills....the mistake you are making hear is only using your ears and looking at numbers....you might not like the fact Aaliyahs image, swagger, coolness, sex appeal helped her be more loved than you may think she deserved, but she also had music to go along with that....she was the total package,Ciara can never match that....she'll get love as a performer like Brandy gets love as a technical vocalist.

Whatever reason Aaliyah connected with fans its lasted the test of time:manny:...Ciara was supposed to be Aaliyah and failed, and no death even at her peak couldn't have put her with Aaliyah outside of maybe both of them watching down from the clouds today.

idiotic responses like this are exactly why i gave ya dumbass the curve.

thanks for proving my point.

im glad im not the one that wasted time trying to break it down for you. i saw you coming a mile away.

:heh:

lol. since this convo's been done, I'm just gonna bark on you for being a coward.

I ask you a question, someone else responds that isn't you (and doesn't answer the question), and you consider it answered.

Imagine that happening in real life.

"Hey you, what are you doing here?"
"His name's Lenny."

Of Mice and Men ass nikka. You don't respond because you're afraid or fukking retarded to begin with.

:usure:

if this was real life, somebody wouldve swung on you pages ago.

the nice types wouldve politely dismissed you.

And nobody cares about her now:mjcry:

But my post wasn't reffering to talent, its referring to the fact that Aaliyah managed to connect to her fans in a way Ciara and Mya never did....where singers like Mary J,Keyshia Cole,Monica,K Michelle connect and bond with they fans through hurt and man hate,Aaliyah managed to bond with her fans in another way,its a different kinda love Ciara and Mya never got....Ciara and Mya are only as good as they biggest hit,the Ciara and Aaliyah comparison doesn't take into account Ciara never had that connection with fans that Aaliyah did....its like comparing any ol street nikka that raps about the hood and harsh realities with Pac:mjlol:....and props on the Brandy mentions, nikkas forgot about Moesha:banderas:

lol. i see alot of yall have no clue how much love ciara was getting from that target audience back when she was in her prime. her peak was bigger than aaliyah's. some of you dudes are letting that '90s childhood nostalgia cloud your vision.

what makes you think people would be dwelling on aaliyah like this if she didnt pass?

and what great bond did aaliyah have with most of these booth posters posing as r&b fans aside from the "girl next door" gimmick that yall fell for?:mjlol:

lol. yal need to knock this chit off.

aaliyah was the total package how? she couldnt even sing. thats the main neccessity. so how was she a total package?

ciara was supposed to be the aaliyah?:mjlol; ciara's main draw was rippin up the stage - which is another thing that aaliyah couldnt do. so how was she supposed to be the next aaliyah?

who the hell would strive to be a novelty act in the 1st place?

the rest of this is stannery breh. youre better than this.

And I agree with the bolded. And I will take on knock on that Ginuwine stuff cause I was never really a fan of dude. He was just in my head as a member of their camp. And you're right about that TRL stuff. I just didn't want to bring that up cause then it gets more complicated with 106 park (urban) market vs TRL (mainstream) market.

But :salute: to your posts. You put me on some game. And what was that T-Pain shyt with Aaliyah about? You got a video link :lupe:?

EDIT: I found it. T-Pain a real dude for that remark. He got balls.

yea. i peeped that @SirBiatch clown's steez in a previous thread right before he came in here. i wasnt even trying to bother with bul. you broke it down for him, and hes still either in denial or just dumb as rocks.

what gets me is dude admits he doesnt know anything, but still came in here poking his chest out demanding receipts. just disrespectful.

there were threads on the t-pain thing:

Aaliyah was a special up and comer especially with that timberland production the rest of the chicks at the time were lumped in one lane and she was in her own. Ciara was special too when she came out but fell off hard and fast for some reason maybe because jazzy was awlll in the videos and he wasn't tim. She was a hot chick too though those tranny rumors messed her up she's a pretty woman.

It's online. Get a hold of yourself.

Smiley-dependent ass nikka with no original thoughts of his own. No wonder you couldn't get Aaliyah. It's not made for squares like yourself.

I'm still laughing at the fact that StillNotSoft had to come in and save the thread. While your retarded ass was dodging questions.

Later.

Aaliyah did become overrated after she died, just like anybody else, but Ciara?

Fukking Ciara?

That's a hell of an insult.

LOL @ THE BOLDED. why do you people put yourselves out there like this?

she was no up-n-comer. she was on the downside of her career.

why are your arguments so dependent on timbaland? if aaliyah was so great, she wouldnt have to live off of beats.

ciara wasnt special either. btw, she fell off WHEN she stopped working with jazze pha.

:comeon:

YOURE THE ONE that brought up the "if this were real life" argument. stop throwing stones & hiding your hands.

i didnt dodge chit. i just know better than to waste time with dikkheads. your questions were answered already, and as predicted, you dodged them.

i dont even use smilies like that. whats funny is, the guy youre suckin off in this thread is the biggest smiley abuser around. just to point out how contradictory you are with your pointless insults. btw, @StillNotSoft is the homie but he aint do chit but stan aaliyah this thread. get off his top.

I'm talking about the conversational exchange, you emotional cornball. And you wanna bring up "in real life, you would have swung on ya." LOL.

Point is, you got into your feelings worrying about 'disrespect' when you should have just provided receipts. It took who you call an Aaliyah stan to even allow me to see part of your point of view.

You have no idea how to hold an argument. And that's how I've concluded that you're an idiot. Smart people can hold a debate without worrying about petty shyt like "is his chest puffed out" and they always answer direct questions. Idiots duck direct questions every time for some emotional reason or the other. Then act like they're too good for the question.

:mjcry:

I care and I still support Mya. fukk the followers.

And I don't agree with your stance that any of those singers didn't have a fanbase that particularly connected to them. shyt most black female (most black artist in general/historically - Chitlin Circuit) rnb singers survive BECAUSE of their fan bases being solid. Small yet solid. And I am one of those fans of Mya that has connected with her over the years so I feel that is false. She still does shows worldwide. (And I don't like none of those singers for the most part, except Monica, because of their man hate). Maybe I'm an anomaly.

And Ciara still tours so she got some connection to "some" fans. Ya'll seriously downplaying the fact that she has survived the "business" for at least a decade. Somebody is following her so I truly don't think the comparison is a negative in anyway. Most artists kill for that type of longevity.

But I respect your opinion and I really don't wanna argue this anymore. Different strokes for different folks :yeshrug:.

Honestly I don't like arguing over the internet because it's kinda retarded if you think about it, but you are truly a mental midget. And you can't have a reasonable argument without pulling fantasy feelings out of your ass. And for the record, I do like and have supported Aaliyah. I have bumbed a few of Ciara's song as well so I'm not emotionally attached to this in anyway:heh:. I can be an adult and form my own opinion and say what the fukk I feel :whoo:. So stop replying to me and fukk off.

Sorry Wacky D, can't tell you and Ligeraz apart. Same emotional vibes from y'all.

Point is, both of you aint built for adult convo. When asked to clarify, you get all in your feelings and take it personal.

"Hey, you got any receipts for what you're saying?"
"I don't wanna reply to you!!! But I will reply to you with insults/irrelevant info. Anything but receipts" LMAO

It's been fun y'all.
