Those are YOUR words though.

You stay downplaying artists you don't like. You don't tell it straight up. A lot of your statements are backhanded compliments.

How am I moving goal posts? How was Ginuwine's album bigger? He got the same push. Who cares if Aaliyah was signed by Barry Hankerson or Barry White?

By 90's, I'm talking artists who debuted in the 90's. I know what cultural impact is and it goes beyond what you and I THINK. You seem to have this warped sense of reality that your opinions themselves equate to cultural impact. Her being co-signed by legends wasn't the end-all, be-all of my argument though. Act like Mariah's music didn't have cultural impact.

Nicole Wray didn't have a Timbaland-helmed album, but she was backed by his production.

quote my words specifically. and i wasnt even referring to the alleged back-handed chit. i dont even care about that. so dont try to match chit up on the slick.

lol @ ginuwine getting the same push. and im not even dwelling on that. you up here making yourself look bad voluntarily at this point.

when did i say my opinions equate to cultural impact? when did i even insinuate such? this is the bullchit im talking about. i hope you dont pull these stunts in real life.

and here you go again talembout "act like mariah's music didnt have cultural impact". when i didnt say that she didnt. YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF YOU PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH. in reality, all i said was that there were at least a handful of others that clearly had more cultural impact.

nicole wray was not backed by timbaland production. she had 1 f*ckin joint produced by him. and youre trying to compare that to aaliyah's situation?

man, i was gonna upp this thread an apologize for telling you to "shut the f*ck up" but im glad i didnt.

Ginuwine got the same push. He had the same amount of singles. He was performing on several television shows.

Nicole Wray's biggest song is a Timbaland production. She had another Timbaland produced single from her second album (which has been mentioned several times in this thread) which went nowhere ultimately leading to that album being shelved. After that, she went on hiatus and then resurfaced on The Roc in like '03. I only mentioned Nicole because it was being insinuated that a better singer would've been as successful or bigger than Aaliyah with the same team. Watch the video to "Make It Hot". The whole crew is in it even Aaliyah.

This really is my last post on this topic.

I bolded your original posts.

I know what a "push" is.

I'm not the one who's stupid. My example of Nicole Wray wasn't even addressed to you initially. That's your problem. You insert yourself into several arguments and end up confusing yourself. You inserted yourself into a discussion I was having with someone else. You have headaches because you didn't even follow the posts to even know what was going on. You're in here quoting like five posters, inserting yourself into arguments, and then complaining about headaches.

you didnt bold chit concerning you "not" putting words in my mouth.

no you dont know what a push is.

you ALWAYS give me a headache. and im not even a headache guy.

if you werent addressing me with the nicole wray thing, then why did you wait until now to say so?........ if that were the case, then why didnt you let it be known from jump, instead of 5-6 pages worth of you trying to force that ridiculous point on me?? and you waited to say this after you "exited" the thread too. yea okay buddy.

. You need the records. Aaliyah was no Faith Evans or Kelly Price, but she made high quality music. She changed R&B with Tim, that's huge! I remember in '96, everyone was like "WTF is this shyt?" They really ushered in a sound that mad people tried to bite right after.

The first time I heard "Are You That Somebody", it was like: 'huh?! holy shyt!"

Aaliyah is THE ONLY RnB artist I gave a fukk about in the late 90s. I liked Janet too, but even back then I was far more interested in what Aaliyah was putting out. Then again, I've never been an RnB guy so maybe that's why Aaliyah's shyt appeals to me.

Real r&b cats barely paid attention to the third Aaliyah album. I hate "are you that somebody" too.

I'm an actual soul man. Y'all cannot fukk with me on any level.

And for the record: TLC are trash

I've never had the urge to neg anyone, but this takes the cake. Too bad my rep is shot.

Cool bytches, usually with good p*ssy and a wild side (aka they'd take it up the ass) played baby girl.

as they should.

Aaliyah is the gift that keeps on giving.

i'm wrapping this up... aaliyah aint no ciara :umad:

*edit*oh my bad i mean cieara like that dumb nikka who was to lazy to google spell check her name :pacspit:

..

:russ:

This is what kills me about dumb nikkas. They always misspell, have bad grammar and make incoherent sentences. Then wanna act like they're bright and everyone else who disagrees is stupid.

dead at the title Aaliyah is the closest thing to Minnie Riperton. You lucky to experience 1 every few generations.

They had some good songs. I prefer Aaliyah a lot more but TLC got some bangers.

TLC were romper room trash status. waterfalls is one of the worst songs ever to be a huge hit. I saw some fatherless 2o somethings playing it loudly and bopping/singing extra hard to it on the street like a year ago and gave a fair amount of consideration to ramming them off the road.
