I started with the TV show and it got me interested. So after season 3 I started the books. I read them in this order 3, 4, 5, 1, 2. I was sooo pissed when the show passed the books. I figured the show was giving us the broad strokes of how it will end. And it probably was, BUT since the show ended on such a lackluster note that no one seemed to like does this give George R.R. Martin more license to dramatically change what he initially cooked up? I think and hope so.
