I think the frustrating part on the books is like....hire some ghost writers if you have to, but just finish it.

What’s the worst that can happen? People say it sucks after you sold 30 million copies? Just write it and end it and go back to the things that are interesting you more.

If he never did the TV show, these would have been done years ago.....so they ended it for you and took all the pressure off. Whatever you write will be gobbled up, so just do it.

Yeah but he is against fan fiction so I understand why he opposes ghost writers.

After the creators said no to the full 10 episode final seasons and ended the show on a bad note, fat boy can take all the time he needs. I'll wait for a canon ending.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?

Well he has his two editors, I forget their names, but it is a guy and a girl, they may be married, and they ghostwrote some of the world book for him. So maybe, with a couple of trusted advisers, he may be willing in the future.

The only way we are getting it done is after he passes in my opinion. People like this world he created so they will prob be up to his estate. Let's be real if he trusted ghost writers would have used them by now.

It's not happening and this is the ending he gave them. It was rushed as hell but this is where the main characters end up.

just read his last blog and seems like this is the case. i can't believe he originally wanted to end the series with tyrion, jon and arya being in a love triangle :scust:

he also has 5 shows in development for HBO (some are GoT related), is working on a couple of shows for Hulu, one for the History channel and is involved in a video game in japan. he did say in his blog that the books are coming but didn't give a date. so idk how to take it. he seems way too busy right now and if those shows take off he'll be even more busy and a bigger celebrity.

How will it all end? I hear people asking. The same ending as the show? Different?

Well… yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes.

Strange way to say it's going to be the same ending. If it is the same end maybe we'll feel better about book Bran since Martin can narrate his visions and POV. The show doesn't give us any clues about whats inside his head once he becomes the 3-eyed raven.

So Cal
I am working in a very different medium than David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss], never forget. They had six hours for this final season. I expect these last two books of mine will fill 3000 manuscript pages between them before I’m done… and if more pages and chapters and scenes are needed, I’ll add them. And of course the butterfly effect will be at work as well; those of you who follow this Not A Blog will know that I’ve been talking about that since season one. There are characters who never made it onto the screen at all, and others who died in the show but still live in the books… so if nothing else, the readers will learn what happened to Jeyne Poole, Lady Stoneheart, Penny and her pig, Skahaz Shavepate, Arianne Martell, Darkstar, Victarion Greyjoy, Ser Garlan the Gallant, Aegon VI, and a myriad of other characters both great and small that viewers of the show never had the chance to meet. And yes, there will be unicorns… of a sort…

Book or show, which will be the ‘real’ ending? It’s a silly question.

The Winds of Winter Release Date: George R.R. Martin Thinks He'll Finish by 2020 at Latest - IGN

I know his publicist/agent must be :why: at the amount of bank this book would've made if George released it right before the final season.
At this point I'm sure they just want him to finish it and not die. Its going to make bank no matter what. Hell, this trash final season is only going to hype the books up even more as the stories savior. People that haven't even read a single page of the books will probably buy it and skim to Dany's chapters to get the ending:mjlol:
