he wasn't a fool in the books? i remember cersei playing somebody, it wasn't him?
he known as being a 'fat oaf' and not the most strategic person in the books. but the show just makes him seem like a complete sucker

we'll have to see how this all plays out. in both book and the show Cersei wants him out of the way so she can fukk with his kids. in the book he's sent to take Storm's End, but he turns around and heads back to KL when he hears Margery was arrested. in the show, he's sent to Bravos, with Meryn Trant. I'm not sure where that's going...

Hmmm. Maybe Cersei told Trant to make sure Mace suffers a fatal "accident" while away from Westeros.
that was the message I got

I also think they're setting up a Meryn/Arya meeting. they made it a point to remind everyone that he's still on her list last episode. but that meeting might get complicated by the fact that he's on Arya Stark's list, and she's supposed to be trying to be 'no one'

you're probably right. it's crazy how fast the show moves
This is my first season having read all the books, so I can't tell if it's just in contrast to the thousands of pages or if this season in particular that's really fast

the arya arc in general played out so slowly in the books, it's wild that she's already buried her sword and met up with ja'qen again :dwillhuh:

they're just skipping a lot of shyt. it's understandable, because who wants to sit through half a season with Tyrion getting drunk, asking "where do whores go?" :heh:

has tysha ever been mentored in the show?
I think he tells the story once, and they refer to him being married to a whore a few times

in general I think books are better at getting inside a character's head. like how Jamie's haunted by the "she’s been fukking Lancel and Osmund Kettleblack and probably Moon Boy" quote. it's hard to do in film/tv without resorting to some corny voice-over or some shyt
