We may not be getting Winds of Winter this year, but come October its looking like we are gonna have something to hold us down for a quite a while.....well, at least those of us who enjoy the lore of Westeros and not just the Song of Ice and Fire story itself

Fans of fake history rejoice. I am finally done with the Iron Islands.

And why does that make me so pleased? Well, because it was the last little bit I had to write for our long-awaited and much-postponed concordance, THE WORLD OF ICE & FIRE. Which we've been working on (along with many other things) lo, these many years. ((And yes, yes, it's late, what else is new? Please do not blame my faithful collaborators, Elio Garcia and Linda Antonsson. They finished their part ages ago, and tossed the ball to me. What can I say? I remain as slow as ever. And I added a lot.))

Anyway, it's done at last. At least the writing part. Now it is all in the hands of the artists, and our valiant editor Anne Groell. (This will be a coffee table book, heavily and lavishly illustrated, so there's LOTS of art)).

Assuming we don't run into any problems with the art, THE WORLD OF ICE AND FIRE will be released this fall. October, I think, but don't quote me on that.

And HEY, this means another monkey is off my back. Only a couple left gibbering up there now. That little joker monkey, HIGH STAKES. And... gulp...

SON OF KONG.

So I'm sitting here watching my weekly episode of Season 3
(I watch 1 per week leading up to season 4)
And I'm noticed the final foreshadow that I need to come to this conclusion
GRRM has given the writers all the main info that they need
Including how the books play out
I'm on episode 6 this week (4 weeks until season 4)
And Lady Melisandre all but confirms
Yes she will run into Arya again
But
She will be the one who heals Jon Snow
and when she does
She will see the truth in his parentage
They foreshadowed this in this episode for the viewers to have something to revert back to when she heals in come season 6

There has been more things I've noticed but this one as I'm watching it just had me like
:ohhh:
because of not only how it deviates from the book
but how they are connecting the dots for the future

But what memories will Jon Snow lose?
His childhood?
So it's easier to convince him of who he really is...
But does this effect his next meeting with Arya
or even Sansa...

My apologies if it sounded unclear

When Jon Snow gets stabbed, potentially to death, in A Dance with Dragons.
She will be the one who revives him if they go that route
I have noticed that some of the things they have changed from book to tv
has not only left the story unaffected
but has given minor things away as to characters fates and futures

The show in a way...
can act as a spoiler for book readers

When Lady M tells Arya that she will meet again
as a book reader
We dont know that

Its things the show is telling us that the book has yet to

Also
If Jon is brought back
At what cost to his memory?

Melisandre:
I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness eyes staring back at me. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you'll shut forever. We will meet again.

Arya has Grey eyes
Are those the eyes of faceless men
or
Are those eyes reflective of the eye color of the people she will kill as a faceless person

They also mentioned...
Well Sam did...
Dareon
Will he be making an appearance?

Yep, we definitely all lost

Website is down, but some Brazilian interview with GRRM regarding WoW:

"Next year, maybe. This year I doubt"

The word maybe when he mentions next year is pretty telling as well. The word probably would have given me hope, but maybe for him puts even 2015 into serious question

Seems almost a certainty now that the show will pass the books.

I think we might get the battle of Mereen in Episode 9 next season.

ive given up hope breh. im gonna be 40 by the time i know how this story ends. even then im sure there will be loose ends or maybe some character arcs might have a sopranos type ending.

so why did the monster that the red woman made to kill renly only work to kill one person?

can someone tell me yt? Mthat?

Because that is what the shadow is. It is a fantasy plot element, which means the writers create the rules of the element. The rule that GRRM created was that the shadow baby only has the power for one kill. There aint nothing to explain, thats just the way it is:yeshrug:

Then the question turns to "why dont they make more shadow babies, " and the answer to that is that it sucks the life out of Stannis to do the deed. It is stated he would die if he tried it again.
