Saw it today after the arcrimony flick with traji and believe that or not, this movie was the more believable of the two:dead:

Overall, I enjoyed the film and am interested in where they take it from here

This was one expertly crafted piece of horror entertainment.:ohlawd:

The movie's biggest (and frankly only) flaw is that the plot is largely built on the ludicrous idea that a family would ever bring a baby into this world. It's almost impossible to suspend your disbelief about that plot point, but outside of how conveniently silent the baby is, you really can't argue against the movie's execution.

There's a constant air of suspense and the use of sound (in particular the lack of it) really adds to the sense of dread. I did wonder how well mainstream audiences can handle all this silence but then again I couldn't care less since I saw this at a respectable venue with a respectfully silent crowd.:blessed:

Also @FlyRy I actually liked the "Jurassic Park" moments as you would call them. One, because they worked and two, because they worked. And when something works you should just shut the fukk up about it and appreciate it.

Cannot call that a flaw, it happens and plus you cannot stop fukking or start the extinction of mankind altogether because people going to stop breeding. They clearly made their decision and shown they had an actual plan to handle it noise situation. It was a situation that they were able to deal with.

The REAL FLAW that you had to suspend belief was WHERE WERE THE GENERATORS? And how if they were using generators that they aren't making a sound and if it's not generators then where they getting electricity from? That's something never shown.

I hate horror films but this was so amazing. For the start, it had a monster but the horror wasn’t the monster. It was sound. That fact alone was so incredible to me.

The only weapon was sound itself.

I was in edge and stresses more than afraid which is almost perfect.

This is a classic.

:wow:

This was a modern horror classic.

A master class in tension and horror. It’s pretty rare movies take full advantage of a great concept or hook but this one did in spades.

Full theatre and you could hear a pin drop almost the entire films length. Great acting by from everyone.

My chest felt like it was in a knot the whole film. I was on the edge of my seat. Like this was the tension Nolan tried with Dunkirk but this actually had me.

Who knew goofy ass jim from the office had this in him. The direction in this film was that of a seasoned pro.

I can’t recommend seeing this in theatres enough to everyone, especially horror fans.

I can’t wait to see what Krasinski does next.

10/10

Side note, I had no idea this was from Michael bays production team. I guess starring in 13 hours probably got this film made.

The year 3030
Interesting...makes you wonder how far from the future that dystopian world was.

you can kinda estimate it...if the brother "died" on 2020 and that was day 89....by movie's end we're like on day 400-something...so it's probably like 2021 or 2022.
