From a human standpoint it was real good. You felt their love, hate, fear. I really like the father because he was a man's man. Wasn't a punk. Was a true leader for his family. I sure feminist hate him but forget them. As far as horror. Yeah, it suprised at parts. I didn't jump but I was surprised at several part so it got me there. as a whole the movie will intrigue. And then it'll get drawn out. Intrigue you. then get drawn out. Pacing definitely needed to be better but when it was action it was good. You definitely had fear of the monsters. But as a whole I would never revisit this movie.

My main issue though is how these monsters worked. I could never figure out how they detected if a person was there. At times it seemed like they were truly blind but if so then how did they walk around the wa they did? another problem was with the family itself and the monsters.
So you know these monsters are around and you bring a kid into the world. Niguh, at best I would be sodomizing my wife or she swallowing me. Even though they lost a kid. How could those monsters not hear a crying baby? Just didn't make any sense

The ending was depressing as well. That family had no chance without the father and was just waiting to die. Including that infant.

It's like we watched two different movies. Not sure what you mean by the father was a 'man's man'. He empowered his daughter
by giving her the device because he knew she would be smart enough to figure that out. Which is why the family will survive. What do you mean they won't make it without the father? He figured out the creature's weakness and the daughter amplified the sound. Those creatures were all coming to get got. It was a great hopeful ending.

A man's man is a leader. He wasn't weak. He made tough decisions for his family. Alot Hollywood films the hero is the woman, the leader. I agree he empowered his girl. As well as his son. That goes along with loving his kids.

If them monsters keep coming she's going to run out bullets. A crying baby. Them niguh dead b.

I didn't like this as much as I thought I would with all the hype.

It had it's moments, but It felt a bit silly at times. I'm not sure if it being PG-13 had anything to do with that or not, or if it was the CGI which felt a bit too B movie.. I feel it would have been better if it had gone all in and didn't try to have their Jurassic Park moments if you will.

I do agree the monsters looked a bit too stranger things like, and the ending gave me Signs flashbacks, mostly for worse.

Kind of agree with this review ‘A Quiet Place’ Is Sillier Than It Would Like to Admit

I still love the overall concept but had a few issues with the execution. Some silly edits and plot holes.

And I was a little annoyed by the dumb fukking teenagers it kept talking the whole time next to me. So I don't know if that did anything to temper my enjoyment.

Krasincki needs to be Joel in a Last of Us movie ASAP

The definition of suspense. The lack of sound really built the tension. I hated the full body shots of the monsters they should have stayed away from it.

Ok this shyt made no sense. How did the monsters not go crazy from noise? Why weren’t they attacking the river, thunder, every animal on the planet? A monster that just hones in on noise would be rather easy to defeat. You make a big noise to draw it in and blow the shyt up.

Why wouldn’t the family move into a sound proof bomb shelter or something they were too loose with it imo.

When he 1st lit the fires on top of the silo the other fires in the distance were other survivors correct? At the end they were the last ones left. That was dope the way they expressed that.

Why did the dad grab the axe and try and fight at the end? All they had to do was be quiet again.

The face old dude made out in the woods b4 he screamed had me dying in the theater!!!

That spoiler was my main issue with the movie too. It made no sense to me but it was used to up the stakes so I didn't let it bother me

Yeah I guess I did watch a different flick.
IMO that wasn't the reason he gave it to her, it was simply because he hoped she would be able to hear and it was just luck that it affected the monsters.

One problem I had was that it was Day 83 (I think) in the opening scene where the toddler dies. Then it's Day 472 and the mom is pregnant. It's been more than a year, which means she wasn't pregnant during the opening scene. That means that for some reason, after seeing their child killed in front of them and knowing how loud babies are and that the creatures hunt by sound and just generally living in a shytty post apocalyptic world, they still chose to conceive another child. That just seems like an incredibly bad idea. They just saw their youngest kid get killed, they should have known better.

I feel like this movie wasn't meant to be picked apart for plausibility. It's a creature fic. How many creature flicks are plausible. It was more of a character/situation study of the human predicament and tension. But I know there are some basic things different people require to completely swallow a movie, so I get what you're saying.

The definition of suspense. The lack of sound really built the tension. I hated the full body shots of the monsters they should have stayed away from it.

I think as far as I understood it anyway, it was about the type of noise the creatures were drawn to. Like a biological imperative to hunt certain sounds. I also think living in a bomb shelter would drive someone crazy, IF they could find one. The people who have those built don't advertise because they're preppers and want to safeguard against people who might coming seeking out their stash.

See, the drawings and writing about weaknesses makes me think it wasn't just about her hearing, but I guess it's open to interpretation.

So why didnt he just throw his bat at a window or something.....:sas2:

Because that would have made noise to draw more of them.

I just think it's implausible that in a world where there is no entertainment or talking that two grown people can go without sex. Maybe he had a weak pullout game though. lol

i didn't think he figured out the weakness or he would have utilized it. It seemed like he was constantly trying to make a hearing aid for his deaf daughter and also trying to communicate to get help.

She was the one who figured it out, and it likely saved the family. Even if they ran out of shells, the feedback was going to keep the monsters from attacking.

Overall, I really liked this movie. It was definitely unique and the tension was pretty constant throughout the movie.
