It's a very solid film, not sure I would call it unique or groundbreaking. It's kind of cut from similar cloth as films like Signs and I Am Legend. Needless to say, if Krasinski can churn out a product like this early in his career, then great things are in store for the film world.
I also agree with the baby complaint. Babies are generally loud and require constant attention. I think John added that element to the plot for extra suspense and tension.

First thing I thought when I saw her pregnant was why the hell would they bring a baby into the world knowing you can't keep a baby quiet on command.
But I do like how they showed how prepared they were for that. It seemed like they wanted to try and make a normal life under the circumstances, so they kept moving forward
I’m surprised people have a problem with them having kids.
Survival and creating life is a basic human trait embedded in us.
Look at the conditions people have kids in already in our current world. But we do it and hope to create a better world for our children.

They can't have an abortion because I am sure there are no abortion doctors available.
The only thing I have a hard time believing is their youngest child getting snatched up the way he did with that toy, despite everyone knowing not to make noise.

IF we didn't get that entire store scene at the start, I could see it.

....cant put it in the upper echelon cuz it was pg-13 tho 
that kind of knocked some of the tension out for me knowing i wouldnt be really seeing anybody get bodied. Our government must've been super trash if they figured out the creatures are sensitive to sound but not how to use it to our advantage. I mean bats do exist 
im sure there's a batologist (im sure thats not the technical term) that can tell u wat frequencies would fukk a bat up. I also thought it was weird that these mufukkas open up their whole damn head pretty much to hear yet nobody thought to body them when they did it. I know it would attract more of them but still. Best scene of the movie hands down for me was
plus that scene popped everything off. Im glad it wasnt a long movie too because built up tension doesnt really do anything for me and i found myself just a tad bored before that particular scene. That ending was fuego tho, and i liked how emily blunt damn near turned into her edge of tomorrow character. Great way to end the flick. 8.5/10 maybe even a 9

Krasinski was like "keep quiet" and the old man legit looked at him like "oh u want me to stay quiet huh? fukk YOU MOTHERfukkER! and just screamed his head off

Saw it during the matinee. I enjoyed how my crowd was dead quiet through out the movie. As far as the movie itself, I loved the pacing and the originality. But my question is, you just saw your youngest one get snatched up by the alien booty goon a lil over a year ago and you decide to have another lil loud ass hard headed kid? 
I mean they eventually find out the weakness later on in the movie but you gotta admit, had it not been for that. That family was doomed as soon as the wife got pregnant
