I liked the setting and concept, and loved the kids, as actors, and the films real emotional center. A few great moments, and I loved the Hudson Valley scenery and world building, but it delved into extremely cliched spiral very quickly, and never recovered. The films breakneck pace may cover that up, but it turned into a genre run down about 20 min into it. And, that's fine, I think he wanted to do his take on a horror/sc fi movie.

The plot holes are numerous and the film oozes them, but that was secondary to the cliches and ham fisted ending, the creatures also, lost almost all tension and horror when revealed. Less is more with the creatures reveal, and with the creatures themselves. They were way over the top in the final scenes.

It's an ok movie, doesn't come close to Green Room, or even It Comes At Night, the latter being another take on the same genre. This was very formulaic and checked all the boxes.

The movie was beautifully shot although some scenes were predictable, the opening scene was way out the left field :merchant:

I’ll be watching the sequel

THese brehs don't actually live in reality.

They probably had sex and his pullout game was weak, but once they found out they made steps to ensure its safety.

They can't have an abortion because I am sure there are no abortion doctors available.

The only thing I have a hard time believing is their youngest child getting snatched up the way he did with that toy, despite everyone knowing not to make noise.
They stole sleeping gas but couldn't steal some condoms or plan B pills?:stopitslime:

Creatures wiped out the human race but can only find you through sound. Yet y'all gonna have a bunch of crying babies around.

plot holes are necessary sometimes and in this film, it works. in reality those aliens creature could never wipe out humanity. i rather accept the intended settings instead getting fed some nonsense backstory. one of those film, i rather not apply logic to.
