@MartyMcFly tells me I'm not into horror but i absolutely love the indie horror wave of the past 4 or 5 years.

I just love it. I never got into all the gory saw shyt in the aughts but i'm glad we back :wow:

See I feel like you gotta love more than the indie stuff to say you love horror tho breh. That includes slashers, ghosts stuff, big studios, small studios, whatever. Obviously everyone has their limits. Like I'm not watching A Serbian film. no thank you. But I'm not going to look down on something like Annabelle creation or ouija origins of evil or the strangers or even Lights out, which I ended up not liking very much at all. Being a horror geek is like being NWO; you're in that shyt for life through the bad and the good. Not just for the indies

How is this a new take. Don’t breathe with the blind man rapist killer was the same premise. They just added monsters to the formula.

Haven’t seen it yet but you could apply that logic to damn near every horror slasher that’s come out after black Christmas or every haunted house flick since the haunting. It’s not all about what they do that’s new and more about what they do that’s effective and the execution

I find most of those indie horrors to barely be horror films :yeshrug:

Well Scream is my all-time fav and I like a few of the giallos. and of course the 80s classics we grew up on. I'm more of a psyhological horror lover.

i just dont tend to have interest in the modern studio shyt

See that’s a bit chunk of shyt you’re missing out on tho homie. James Wan is that dude right now and any horror flick he touches (for the most part) is a home run at best, a triple at worst. And he’s working in the studio system now. And all of his stuff is psychological.

Even the strangers, both the original and the sequel, are homages to 80s slashers. Especially the second one. If you’re into that style then those movies might be up your alley

Nah is it good?

It’s awsome. It’s called Shockwaves. Only one person on the show actually works for Blumhouse but the rest are just horror geeks who work in the industry in one way or another and they usually have awesome guests on. Anyway they went off on the whole “post horror” thing one episode because they agreed with you. I feel like The Movie Crypt podcast went off on it as well

Well of course I've seen Insidious and The Conjuring breh. Never peeped the sequel though. I did like Veronica though. So i like the movies but I guess I don't identify as a junkie even though I tend to watch more horror movies than mystery movies which I used to have in my sig along with sci-fi.

Conjuring 2 is on the same level as the first. Insidious 3 is actually pretty damn good as well.

But yeah it’s a junkie lifestyle lol. It’s why I’ve got shudder. So anytime I get in the mood I can just watch a horror flick
