Dumb cacs killed their own momentum with all these restrictions on registration and are too dumb and narcissistic to realize it. 7k users can't complete with a forum that has 100k daily.

Nah. I initially thought the place was just gonna be an offshoot but it's really looking like a great migration. Neogaf never had 100k members posting daily, that's reddit numbers.

The community is splintered but they have made good decisions in who the mod and more importantly the admin team are.

Personally, I'm still of the mind that it's better to be in small black focused forums like this one, but if you are all about that gaming discussion over all else, you might as well wait to get a invite.

i had my account on neogaf since 2002 but was never able to post. all i was allowed to do is bookmark. so i still logged in to bookmark. now my account is deleted. i lost my bookmarks so yeah i'm mad.

i'd sign up again if registration was open just to be able to bookmark

and i want a retcetera account so i can bookmark/watch threads there too but if i can also post thats even better.

Fact is dudes on here do protest too much. Before this all happened people carried on like they were too cool for Neogaf, but now everyone cares what happens there or what happens with its members.

doesn't matter because at the end of the day it still leads to more signups, more activities, more people clicking on your google adsense ads and more money. the mods letting people vent in one thread is all thats needed. i know this because i used the same strategy when i used to run my own forum. it may have not paid all my bills but that google adsense money was worth it
