I didn't see a list anywhere, so here are the FA's going into the offseason

Unrestricted
WR Anquan Boldin
S Donte Whitner
CB Tarell Brown
OL Jonathan Goodwin
K Phil Dawson
WR Mario Manningham
QB Colt McCoy
WR Kassim Osgood
CB Eric Wright
RB Anthony Dixon

Restricted
CB Perrish Cox
DL Demarcus Dobbs

Exclusive rights
LB Michael Wilhoite
I bet we re-sign wilhoite and cox for cheap, just cuz of bo' and potentially losing corners in FA

Honestly I never thought I'd say this but it's too bad that Brown will most likely be gone. Dude has his flaws but he's probably our most consistent corner. I was excited about Cully coming back but then y'all had to remind me about how terrible he was in the Super Bowl :to:

Me too, was gonna flip it but I'll let it stay true to the original.

To pick up on banter from the other thread, I thought about it and I think I'd like to see us keep Aldon more than Crabs. First, this is the same Crabtree that held out and wanted #1 receiver money when that's not where he was drafted, dude will want too much for his actual value IMO. secondly, our division is based on defenses, and these defenses, as well as Carolina's have shown that they can stop these cute ass finesse offenses. Third, our offense has a long way to go before it's "high powered" and there are some questions on the o-line and run game...as well as with WR depth. I'd rather shore up an elite defense and patch the offense than end up with questionable gaps on both sides. I love the receiver Crabs has become, but he's not a deal breaker to me
i don't know where we'd get one, but we do need an elite receiver.. we haven't had one since TO in his prime... and I'm not talking top 15 bullshyt.. I mean top 10 and really top 5

we have a top 5 defense, and a top 5 back... I'd say top 10 qb... top 5 oline in rushing and passing.. top 5 TE... and nobody to throw the damn ball to...

boldin is automatic but he's slow.. he can't burn anybody.. crabtree can catch his ass off but I'm with Sherman.. I can find 20 receivers I'd take over him now or any of his seasons

we need one of them 4.4 running 6'4 nikkas that you can just toss it up to high and he'll either get it or knock it down... we playing vs 6'1-6'4 ass CBs in seattle plus they fast as hell.. we are not getting done like this

If our OC knew how to utilize the talent on O I'd have no problem shjoring up the D and patching up the O but we need all the help we can get on O. In a perfect world you keep at least one of crabs/bold in or both. I just don't want another year of having talent on the field but not utilizing it. Whoever is at fault for that whether oits kaep, roman, harbs, etc....that shyt needs to be addressed.

corners I get... but o-line? thought we'd been doing good with run blocking and pass protection

and we don't really lose often.. nfc championship three years straight.. we ain't getting blown out... but if you had to sure up O or D... I'd definitely say our offense is the main issue.. we don't blow anybody out and I don't think we even have a top 10 offense

we got 100 million draft picks tho.. I'm sure we can tackle both issues... I just don't want to see them drafting no 5'11 possession receiver

Exactly, the quote doesn't even make sense :patrice:

It does make sense.

Say you ripped someone/persons off and those same people came back and kidnapped a friend/family member and they torture them for info about you but they dont give them anything and they end up killing said person. While that person got destroyed, they didnt allow their pride/will power to be defeated under any conditions.

first of all, I wouldnt really look at seattle when talking about receivers. they had like 1 100 yard receiver all year against them and that was andre johnson
had like 3 last year and it was marshall, titus young (lol, mustve quadruple covered megatron), stevie johnson in 50-17 blowout and welker
boldin actually came close this year the 2nd game of the season

if theres any pattern its big guys (besides welker)

seattle is just really good at coverage :manny: you cant look at getting a young receiver that can beat seattles secondary because then you'll be looking forever

another thing this staff sucks at evaluating wr's, and even if they don't, how do you expect to groom receivers when your offense is very conservative ? boldin and crabs is as good as they come, but our #3 WR had less snaps than our #2 TE and our #4 WR is basically inactive with a ST player taking his spot :heh: couple that with VD, and our playcalling (either because of romans tendencies or to cater to kaep, I dont know) more of a 'create space for main routes' than 'choose your routes' and Im not sure its a good environment for raising a WR
you saw how off patton the hags were playing on the final play of the game ? no one will respect other receivers game until they prove something, but they cant prove anything if we're running jumbo formations and 2TE ests. and I love run game and have nothing against run-based formations and gameplan, but theres really no need to keep stockpiling WRs thinking it will help then, if they arent finna get utilized. zero point to get as many WRs as denver if we arent passing it. Id look for more steady blocking but most of oline is staying here anyway. lattimore is someone to look forward too

people really think we finna get this speedy guy and offense will resolve itself. no, it won't. until harbs is here it will be a run-first team. as such, if you want speed, you get a ginn like specialist for cheap. you're wasting money otherwise

Good post, but it looks like the niners have to spend a bunch of money to retain a whole lot of people. How are you gonna get the next Randy Moss like you're describing?

How can anyone call trio of vd, boldin and crabs "no one to throw to" is absolutely beyond me :mindblown: this would be the best receiving and blocking receiver (not wr) core in the AFC besides Denver. Its top 5 overall, easily. With tony g retiring, falcons receivers are worse, bears are better and cowgirls might have a slightly better one.

The draft. They come cheap with the new caps on them.

I'm not saying we need a moss or megatron. Those are once in a lifetime receivers. But can we get an aj green. An Aaron Hernandez. Some late round draft pick like Sherman who is just big and tall but will bust his ass to learn the other shyt

And as for no one to throw to. Where were those 3 all year?? They will make good catches and get some average numbers up. We need that STAR receiver that demands double coverage every down

Davis was that guy but as I hear more and more about how soft he is.... Then see him take that hit and disappear. It's becoming apparent he's not that guy. Boldin is great and old and slow. Crabtree is great and slow and small

The league is changing. Cbs are now 6'2 and up. Receivers are looking like 6'4 and up. Tight ends are like 6'5. All these little guys are out there getting murdered or barely putting up average numbers now

It's obvious harbaugh wants one cause he keeps going after them. Moss then Boldin, Manningham... Drafted 1, traded for another. Had like 6 wrs and 3-4 get hurt. The others didn't turn out to shyt. I'd keep the trio. Add one more and try and retain or draft the rest of what we need. We don't have big name free agent money

We aren't far off. If we could routinely put up 24 points a game with our D. We'd damn near be unstoppable. It's never the D that loses us these big games. It always boils down to we can't do the back and forth scoring or late game scoring when they know we have to pass
