It’s not their main concern otherwise they wouldn’t be voting for Republicans who literally have no policies to help them. The top campaign issue for Trump this year was kicking out immigrants. Their hatred for immigrants is not driven by economic concerns.
Look no further than old seniors. The GOP is constantly trying to cut their benefits and Dems try to strengthen their benefits, but they vote 60% Republican.
It’s a fools errand to think you can win them over. Pass progressive policies on merit and to attract other groups. Don’t do it to win over white working class voters.
Let’s never forget these is the same class of people who voted for usher in their own economic destruction with Reagan.
