I think Kanter is a good piece to have as long as we don't overpay.

The key thing being overpaying which the Knicks are not exactly the best when it comes to handing out contracts :francis:
even if we dont overpay we'd be losing out on capspace for actual consistent game changing players :mjcry:

Kanter may opt out, the chips are falling into place for us. First Hornacek and Rambis are gone, we looking at some good coaches, we gonna get Bridges, Kanter opts out. Yo this looking like it may be a magical offseason:blessed:
if kanter opts out, that would be great
we can resign oquinn for much less.
my gut feeling says noah will accept a buyout next march so he can play on a playoff team too (much more realistic next season because he will pretty much have 1 year left on his deal by then )
off season we just focus on trading lee and lance thomas (which shouldnt be difficult) drafting 2 solid players, and ofcourse a coach

If Kanter opts out and they let all the FA walk they would have 19 mil in cap space

:ehh:

Also would have max money next year (2019) too

Doubly why it's important (IMO) to trade Lee for an expiring + 1st and take on an expiring along with a 1st with that 19 mil space.

Depending how aggressive Denver wanna be, Faried [$13.7 mil] (who they're trying to move on from) + a 1st for Lee, or just to dump on us for out of our $19 mil cap space.

This one really intrigues me - Washington dumps Gortat [$13.56] + 1st to us so they can have the room to go after Boogie Cousins. Win-Win for both. We can use Gortat while KP is out, flip at the deadline to a contending team. Or at least pick up the 1st.

Other trade targets on their last year of their deals as potential dumps: Terrence Ross, Wilson Chandler.

Best case going into 2019 draft - our 1st, 1-2 additional 1sts + cap space. Can be aggressive at the draft.

This is actually really encouraging to read. And to piggyback off Woj's report last night - a good sign for Stackhouse.

fizdale, stack, and blatt should be the front runners.
mark jackson dont give a fukk about analytics.
he was forced to adopt the modern game with 2 of the greatest shooters to touch basketball and still underachieved :dead:
