Anyone know much about him? I heard he's kinda conservative but don't know the details. There's also murmurs that he distorted his background but they could be just hating.

Ironically I have his book sitting on my bookshelf but haven't read it yet.

This brother is young, 43, got a black wife, black family, isnt c00ning it up for white folks. If he plays his cards right he can one day run for president. A two term maryland black governor? He might be what he hoped gillum would be before the whole sex scandal
I pray he doesn’t end up like Andrew Gillum

This is where you run your own research and come to a conclusion whether you want to support him or not

I did, it was ambiguous. He has no prior experience in office so details are very thin. For example, take these two references from Wikipedia:

"During an interview with C-SPAN in August 2006, Moore self-identified as a fiscal conservative and social moderate.[70] During his gubernatorial campaign, Moore ran with a progressive lean.[71]"

So in the past at least he claimed "fiscal conservative and social moderate", which is a pretty shytty combination. But now he's claiming more progressive? Since he has no record in office and those two self-portraits contradict each other, I was hoping there were some Coli brehs from D.C./Baltimore who might know him better and offer an inside perspective. @FAH1223 ?

:ohhh:damn..The Other Wes Moore definitely left an impression on me mad long ago. had no idea what he was up to after that. this is wild.

I'm not getting my hopes up on anything with politics, but it's an improvement on the usual:yeshrug:

His timeline of living in Baltimore growing up is definitely false. That's taken a life of its own. But its not a big deal to me. Dude loves Baltimore and has been living there most of the last 20 years anyway.

His political leanings are standard normie Dem from what I can tell. Steny Hoyer endorsing him let's you know what time it is.

Hoyer's protege in Maryland politics is Angela Alsobrooks and he LOVES her, wanted her to run for Governor. But she decided to stay as PG County Executive which was smart. She's either getting Steny's seat or going for Gov later on. She endorsed Wes Moore pretty early..

He's done some events with Andrew Yang, not sure he endorsed him in 2020. That non-profit executive circle deal..

Simply put, I think Moore is going to become another Obama-like creation very soon assuming he wins in November. The DC media market, being young, being black, and no real big skeletons will make him a darling of the Dem establishment. He's a good campaigner too.

I don't trust him but definitely voting for him in the general of course. In the primary, I liked Ashwani Jain and John King as they had good policies esp on climate stuff... but those guys had no shot.

I was more pumped for Ben Jealous in 2018. It's too bad he had to go up against Hogan and the Dems nationally ignoring him.

Oh and @Rhakim, Wes' running mate:

:why:

Whyyyyyyy?

For those who don't know, Hindutva is the Hindu equivalent of pretty much the most extreme white nationalists you can find. We're talking White Southerners connected to the KKK circa 1955 level shyt. Calling them nazis would not be an exaggeration - Mein Kampf is one of their favorite books, they sell it and put it on reading lists everywhere. They've killed thousands of Muslims and some Christians and other minorities, they've changed the country's laws explicitly to make Muslims second-class citizens and even deport them whenever possible (not immigrants, we're talking native-born Muslims whose families have been in the country since before independence), and done of their biggest leaders have said they won't stop until every Muslim and Christian is gone from the country.

WTF would you support shyt like this and call yourself a Democrat?

I don’t know anything about Jain but if I’m assuming he or someone in his fam practices Jainism which to me would make him a fascinating candidate in American politics in general. Honestly, this should be Moore’s running mate not a Hindu supremacist.

Another impressive thing about this brother is he was a first time political comer, he beat veterans of politics, two former cabinent members, county executive etc. People who you would ordinarily think would be favoured for the mere fact of their longevity and experience. I was even leaning towards perez thinking he would win. This was an upset

I've only randomly crossed paths with Jain adherents here and there but in my experience they can have some goofy beliefs but are extremely kind people.

I would guess though that any who entered American politics wouldn't be very devout. (Like Nixon being a Quaker.)
