9/30/2023: SHO PPV - Canelo vs Charlo (Undisputed Super Middleweight Championship)

Canelo has shown that he can't be beat with only a jab. He's gonna start timing it at some point. And he's willing to walk through it if he has to. That's what he did to little g. Little g tried to fight behind his jab in the rematch and he got walked down and punished all fight. Plant tried it early but eventually canelo got the hang of it and started walking him down. Canelo's head movement makes it extremely hard to land that jab consistently. And most of it is just wasted energy.

Jermell gonna have to sit down on his shots and trust his power. Getting canelo's respect is the only way to deter him from coming forward. Dig to canelo's body early to weaken his legs and then come on strong late. But it's easier said than done. Especially when canelo is superior defensively and is making you pay for every mistake. I do think jermell has enough power to hurt canelo but he's gotta be willing to stand in the fire and trade with canelo. It's the only way. The best time to hit canelo is when he's throwing. It's almost impossible to land clean any time else.

Actually good jabs are what offsets Canelo the most..GGG won most of that 2nd fight popping Canelo's head back...Kovalev definitely dictated most of that fight jabbing his head off. Bivol easily did so but actually landed his combinations afterwards.

I'm watching the All Access show now and Charlo was watching this exact fight and said "Man, I could move faster and better than Caleb Plant"

As much hate as Caleb Plant gets, he's an impressive mover. In none of Charlo's previous fights has he given any indication that he can box circles around anyone. And to me, it's a dumb gameplan to even attempt that

shyt if I was Charlo I would go for broke and play possum. Let Canelo come to him, and Charlo can use his decent counter-punching ability to set traps for Canelo. Let Canelo overcommit so Charlo can catch him with power shots. Trade with him, but do it in a smart way

How about the last fight with Castano..Definitely had good feet movement and counters.

I was halfway being facetious because dudes were running into Spence Vs. Crawford saying it had zero hype, and that shyt had wayyyyyyyyyy more hype than this fight. I haven’t heard one non-boxing fan talking about this fight. The All Access has been on YouTube damn near three days and hasn’t done a million views. Spence/Crawford All Access did that in a day.

A lot of people see this farce ass fight for what it is.

You guys always say this then every canelo fight ends up doing 500k+ on ppv anyway....and this will be no different. Don't see many people at all calling this fight a farce. Actually most fighters and trainers have said they're hyped about it and give jermell a good shot to win.

Comparing this to Crawford vs Spence makes zero sense. Crawford vs Spence was a once in a generation kind of fight that had been hyped up for at least 4 years. Compared to Canelo vs Charlo. A matchup that completely popped up out the blue 2 months ago. Smh.

And let's be real. Not a single soul outside of hardcore boxing fans give two fukks about a Charlo vs tszyu fight. Let that be on ppv and it wouldn't even break 50k.....can't see how anybody in their right mind could criticize jermell. He's moving up two weight classes to fight a guy who's FAR better than tsyzu. So the idea that he's ducking Tim is ridiculous. Dude got his undisputed and earned the right to do what he chooses now. He's not young anymore. You gotta get that bag when you can. He deserves this opportunity after all that he's accomplished.

We'll know for sure when the numbers come back. I know every boxing fan on the planet gonna be watching. Two guys with big firepower and exciting styles. I expect both of em to rise to the occasion and put on a show.
