Even though i agree with his rant except the climate change part because i think that climate change, global warming shyt is a scam, hes getting way too emotional over this. Incidents like these were made for roasting to make humor/raise awareness out of what insecurity drives some people to do silly things. Same shyt could be said about folks buying 1,000 dollar smartphones for "status symbols".

I looked it up and apparently it's 6 miles to the paved road, but 15 miles to the nearest town. And that's just some worthless desert town with a few hundred people. It's 64 miles to the closest real city on the highway.
There's no cell phone coverage there, so people can't arrange for transport when they get to the main road. Only a few people have sat phones to set shyt up.
Plus people don't want to abandon their vehicles and belongings with no idea when they'll get back.
Virtually no one expects they're gonna die or anything. They figure they just got to wait it out.

I think this festival is based off that The Wickerman movie in the 70s. Movie was mad disturbing and knowing how that movie ends I would not go to a festival inspired by it.
