Inbox request for a chat about a role/openness to relocating to NYC :lolbron:

(Not upheaving my newborn/family at all until he’s at least one year old but def gonna chat/get numbers, haven’t been applying to jack shyt)
The role as I knew isn’t a fit but the larger goal was accomplished- get to a number (for myself and not sell myself short/subtly gauge “feedback”) and get on their radar for applicable roles.

The position is in CT not NYC lol which to a person actually familiar with the region is a gulf :dead: in expectations. He didn’t quite read my resume cause it’s abundantly clear that NYC has been “home,”(implied) education (stated) and work (also stated)- nevertheless didn’t take offense at “Why you willing to move to nyc” question.

Also he’s from the same company that contacted me about this role which truly was a great serendipitous opportunity and process. I was having success and interest with my own search and still this role is/was really really the one. :smile:

Our CEO is a hard line RTO fool. Until he's gone we'll never evolve, and whoever replaces him is going to be just as bad. My particular location we actually own the buildings so leasing ain't a consideration.

Finally got a thrown a lil bone and got a callback for a phone screen, and then got sent a "take home" assessment. Finished that and now waiting for the inevitable;:francis:

Had dream about work

Insurance is gonna Ream my pockets doing open enrollment now

Need to delicately ask for a different manager, I don’t trust my current one and don’t think he’s the best fit to really help/believe in me to go far despite my really really outstanding performance.

Prioritizing in-home care for my son with hired help but knowing budget/assessing real needs won’t be 40 hours more like 5, 10 max a week and a combo of baby outings and light errands. Daycares vary, expensive to “doable” but too many whites (other babies, teachers) for my liking ay his age rn.

My manager just made a ticket at 5:30 PM about getting someone to install mdm.

He tagged them in it and listed 9 different dates in which he interacted with them to install it. From August to November. The dates don’t include times that I’ve asked them to install it. And they still haven’t installed it.

He had told me to make tickets like this to shame them into doing it. But I haven’t it because it seems silly, especially because he talks about IT needing good PR within the company and the fact that I previously got a complaint about speaking to someone as if they were a child.

Like this is ridiculous, right?
