I wish people would write user stories like they actually mean it. If you're not going to be the person to work the story - and work it immediately - write it with more detail than necessary to get it done. Assume that someone starting from zero is going to pick it up. These MFs got me running in circles trying to understand what needs to be done. Then I demo the shyt to dude that wrote it, and he's not even sure what it is we're trying to accomplish

Finally got some down time today.

All my meetings were cancelled and rescheduled for tomorrow or next week.

I've actually been working a lot more lately. Like past 2pm.

It helps the day go by, I suppose. A lot of projects on the way.

I sense a shake up in the air, but can't put my finger on it. Definitely been given a lot more responsibility over the past month.

Also got a prescreening interview for a "competitor".

Reminds off when I'm inserting in line text, I'm very specific about writing shyt like people have no clue how it shyt works.

Because half the time, I don't know it works either, until prepping for a meeting, detailing my steps. Then I kind of start to make sense of how things work.



Was tasked with coating a dynamic stored procedure in SQL. For some reason every example I saw utilizes an "XML" function. After a presentation I relieved when no one else had a damn clue exactly how the XML function works, except for knowing it needs to be somewhere in the code.

I did a search a few hours ago about opeing an account in the cayman islands and now all these ads are scams for opening bussinesses in the bahamas, Cayman, and Cyprus.

I'm officially fed up with these white people . MF said he's free after 2, I schedule the meeting when his calendar is fully open, dude is a no show. I don't have the patience to play around with them after experiencing how badly managed this scrum team is.

me: "oh, that sounds great, i hope you all do something fun after work "

I think the office manager might be complaining about me to her manager. A couple of months ago, I was looking at an HR manager’s calendar; I saw a meeting with her and the office manager called, “IT vs. Office responsibilities” or something like that.

Today I look and see an event in HR manager’s calendar called, IT and office responsibilities doc draft.”

Sometimes if a conference room goes down and I’m working from home, the office manager will kill the power strip which usually fixes the issue. Or is there’s an All Hands meeting, she’ll set up the project in the main area for people in the office to watch.

I’m kind of a yes man at work, so I’m not sure why they wouldn’t just come to if there’s an issues.

I think I might update my resume and put in some job apps.

Also, I sort of dislike not being on a team. I feel like they just have me in a loose team with engineers and the security dude because there’s nowhere else to put me.

If anyone is considering Federal Government, I've been seeing a few posts about them looking for people. I was just "referred" for a role I applied to late last month. It's not an interview, but it was for a "public notice" hire, so seems they are at least moving along quickly. I saw some Data Science related roles too, is anyone is looking to make the switch.

Same here. If I find a good opportunity, I'm out. But this has to be the last change for at least the next few years so my "job hopping" doesn't become a red flag.

Repping you off GP for sticking by your guns. Passive-aggressive and covert manipulation tactics use to annoy the hell out of me too. But now I'm at the point where I just ignore it and don't let it phase me. Because when you call them out on their shyt they try to gaslight you or act confused.

Suprised your boss didn't hit you back with the "We're not just a business here Dora but a family too and we love to have you back in office!" Basically double down on trying to get you back into the office.

I checked out postings on LinkedIn in my field but they’re all in healthcare which I have no experience in plus the topic doesn’t really interest me, pay is crazy. Not sure if I should just round out my portfolio and get the experience or just stay put.
