Fair assessment, however as the ONLY person that knows the subject area, I’m not going to stress out just to “prove” myself.
They hired a team of contractors that were “working” for 6 months before realizing they didn’t do anything while I was churning out apps for other areas of the business. Then after 6 months wanted me to tackle the project when I had 5 other projects going. Lmao!! Nah, I’m good. I like my family more than my job.
This just isn’t the environment for me. Again, analytics is a business strategy not an app building competition.
I have worked as a contractor in the past and as such you are always skating on very thin ice. i have also worked mostly within Germany and Eastern Europe recently and so you have the to contend with on top of that. Environments where problem ownership is best extended somewhat into problems-that-you-interface-with-where-some-mud-could-stick, for your own good.
The trick being to use the enhanced perception of your ability to demand what you want when the time is right.
I get that about work-life balance and I too often get that balance wrong.
