Time to learn SQL
yessir

Real shyt, there’s never a bad time to learn sql. It’s needed everywhere. And you get a decent job to high paying job, anywhere almost instantly.

I wish a lot brehs would just stick out Learning sql.
very true...i learned that shyt a long time ago...its wild to me now when i work with QA people - senior level - and they don't know SQL :francis:

Best I can do is a few selects, inserts, and updates. Joins is where I check out :hubie:
Joins aren't too bad, I'm sure if you spent an aftenoonr doing some you'd be aight.

Just add the steps to your oneNote.

Then you could call yourself a data analyst :troll:

It's doing nested queries, unions, triggers, and writing procedures that I'm like :why:

I’ve got 2 interviews tomorrow. A technical one that I’m afraid I’ll mess up and a behavioral interview that was originally scheduled for last week.

It also annoys me that I saw the 3rd party recruiter post the job in a public Slack an hour after asking how my interview went.

I’ll be alright if I don’t get these jobs. It’s just annoying how long I’ve been trying to reach this next level of IT roles. At least I’m I’ve been studying more consistently now.

there is a growing faction between team "do a whole bunch of shyt fast just for the sake of doing things" and team "do a decent amount of shyt some form of correctly for the sake of growing revenue". I'm in the latter camp, along with my manager and our VP...interesting the lines being drawn amongst our team :mjpls:

i also stay feeling like my propensity to bush people who seem like they on some shyt or :hubie: when it comes to fighting to change things people keep pushing against isn't just me being a whole bytch, the 3 people i've been :patrice: :rudy: about are pretty universally being seen that way, i'm vindicated :blessed:

Yeah, they want the quick kudos, throw the "accomplishment" on their resume, and move up or out. I saw this a lot in supply chain. Breaking shyt to get quick savings for upper level back slapping or resume filler and we'd spend months cleaning up their crap.

First interview didn’t go too well. I botched the macOS and MDM questions. But I correctly answered the Python and Bash questions.

Second interview was great though. It felt like a good conversation with the hiring manager.

@PrnzHakeem what's the best way to go about getting a raise to be in line with the market and what you know they're offering new hires at your level? i can't shake being underpaid by 25-35k and i'm considering dipping for income alone, which is bad, because i fux with my company and role otherwise

lined up an interview at another company next week, higher level role, if the pay sounds right, i'll likely complete the interview cycle for leverage
