@PrnzHakeem thanks for the advice...i'm still shook to even bring this up. really bout to interview hard, i'll feel i have more leverage with an offer in hand. tho they'll lose more than the 30K i want in lost productivity if they need to replace me

but the two other companies i spoke to hollering about $220 base...guess i need to get back into my interview groove

Job giving me way more responsibility and stress. Going to my bosses office tomorrow and asking about the promotion odds within the next 6 months. If he tells me some BS I’m just gonna lateral in the company and chill til I finish my grad degree.
So the feedback I got on what I need to do for a promotion essentially boiled down to greenvale you’re an angry black man :why:

Yeah I’m polishing up my resume and I’m out. I want something internal cause the benefits are fire but we move too slow

Happy friday yall

Conducting 3 interviews todays. Interviewing 2 cats for a contractor role that reports into me, billing rate is $84/hr :whoo:. Makes me want to consider this as an early retirement job, given my experience.

3rd interview is for me, lol. more like grabbing lunch with someone that's trying to hire me, but over video call.

talked to this black chick way back when i was hiring, she was woefully unprepared for the role, a more junior role opened on another team, trying to figure out what the call is in passing along unqualified folk in the name of racial solidarity? i mean, i can easily just roll with the "they hit me on linkedin, here's their resume, do what you will with it" or not pass the resume and lie and say i did :lupe:

Got a HM round next week with another company, also planning to apply to a couple other openings this weekend...but we also just raised some more $$...

We have Indigenous People's Day off on Monday...I don't know what the fukk this holiday is, but Happy Indigenous People's Day yall

I killed that interview. They loved me. Going to write thank you emails and schedule them to send for later.
This rejection hit me really fukking hard. One of the interviewers is going to reach out with feedback at some point.

Next week, I have an interview for a role that’s 5 days in-office and feels like it would be a step backwards career-wise.

Looking to charge career field, what’s the best way to get into the IT field?
What is your current career field? And what do want to get out of IT? Higher pay? Being able to work remotely? Like what do you want to gain by changing careers? I think knowing those answers can help with whatever advice or suggestions may be given to you. You will hear conflicting answers too because it's somewhat ambiguous and it's multiple ways into IT. Some people say you should have a niche and specialize in something others say try to be well-rounded and become a unicorn/jack of all trades. Some people like working as long-term employees and some guys like working as contractors. Some say you will need a college degree others will argue you don't depending on what ya wanna do in IT.

Edit- And what type of learner are you? Do you know? Auditory, Visual, Kinesthetic, Writer/Reader or hybrid? Knowing that can help too. If you're kinesthetic for example and need hands-on experience in order to learn I would suggest starting with hardware first because you're more likely to pick it up faster. And you can get an installation/repair tech job once you're comfortable. You can get an installation/repair tech job with no experience or certs. And some employers even offer paid on the job training.
Got an offer. Doubled my last salary. Well into being a 6 figure breh. :banderas:
Nice. That's dope breh.

I need a hardest recent troubleshooting scenario story for a job application, but I honestly can’t think of one.

What I find difficult is when there’s no defined policy on software usage, so I end up having to support 4 different applications for email or whatever.
