Our DB admin made a set of static data files for the contractors to use so the testing can be more consistent (because having them test with prod files was smart in the first place). Our prod files are in one location and the static files in another.
These fools update their data model to reflect the static file name, but didn't change the file path so naturally they are getting an error during reload. I communicate the problem and which path they should be using. SMH.
The devil is in the details. It's easier to just update a file name, but if I was working with a new file, I'd add it in from scratch to see what's there. The path would have updated automatically is well.

Is there no dev instance loaded with prod data they can use?
That's what they were using, but the problem is the prod data files update daily, some a few times a day, and some of the numbers don't finalize for a few weeks. You can get total on Tuesday, but next Tuesday for that same case the total may be different if other activities/payments were made in between.
We created a static set of data in the dev environment, so not only will the totals be the same, but we can back into the source data for that time period to confirm.

been putting in 11 hour days as of late, this is unacceptable and i think the team is really developing and unhealthy WLB, the humber of slack messages and emails i see people sending and responding to at 7/8/9/11pm is stupid
I’m glad I didn’t go the Mgmt consulting route. Biz Travel is overrated tbh, whole day you’re in meetings and then you have to do your actual work once the 9-5 day is over.
Unless you bridge your stay into the weekend, you don’t get much downtime to actually see the city. Even when you do extend your stay, company will only cover the flight back, not the room.
All them travel points are cool but I’d prefer working long hours on my home turf than in a hotel.

We have someone in high middle to upper management leaving for another company. Compensation discussion started and someone was talmbout someone they knew was making 400k at one company. Hopped and is now making 700k. 
Idk if you’re team is fully remote but I’ve been reading this trend is a function of remote work and people wanting to show they’re working so they’ll answer emails at any time of the day
Couldn't be me at all. I put in my court ordered 8 hours per day and cut that shyt off. Don't want people to get used to fukking with you during your off time.

that's me, i'll admit my work hours have been slipping later and later, went from laptop closed at 5:45, to 6:30, to 7:30 some nights, but i answering shyt after i close out and i'm not replying soon as i wake up. people sitting there replying at 7:15am locally like WTF
