threw his assignment/presentation together in like an hour
was working on something for his current job when i logged into the zoom and hadn't given any thought to how or what he was going to present
whole bunch of rambling
seemed really rattled by follow up questions to his presentation - the one he spent no time on
didn't give clear examples to other interviewers
told a sales person interactive segments aren't needed in sales training
just an overall mess
How does someone like that make it to the final round?

Easy to be pulled together enough in one interview, his portfolio was good as well. But that’s why we have assignments and people meet with multiple stakeholders in the final rounds. Much harder to cover your weaknesses in net new work and when talking to multiple people. He also got another offer, from a shytty old school tech company, but some people tend to stop caring about their interviews once they get one offer.

I don't understand pfsense firewall rules at all.

Edit: I doubted the YouTuber's knowledge but in the end it was his video that explained things in a way I understood.

This is very true. In this case it’s best to just bail. At least you bounce in good standing and can cop reach out in the future. If you crashed and burned in the interview then you’re basically done with that company.

There’s a new hire on Tuesday and there’s one on Wednesday. Why even bother having someone start on a Wednesday? They did the same thing when we had a Friday off one time.

Why not just push them both to next week so they don’t have to repeat all the onboarding meetings?

Also, they’re cutting costs. There’s a team that uses iPhones and I used to order the non pro 13s. They made me switch to the iPhone 11.

You had dude build this Qlik dashboard to replace a product that will be grandfathered in 2 months. Grandfathered product uses live data, but live data capabilities aren't set up for the company's Qlik tenant, at best it can refresh hourly. *laughs in lack of requirements gathering*

Stop trying build everything before you even know the capabilities of the software. LOL now guess who has to research Qlik live data capabilities?

I'm the acting Executive Director for my LOB and I understand why people want to clean house and force people out when they can. The people I am managing have loyalty to the person who hired them and they're making my job harder than it has to be.

Just ended up washing my hands of someone. She continues to be combative when I give directions or help. It's on her to figure out everything now. I had a conversation with my Managing Director about this and he noted egos being a factor along with sitting the duo down and talking to them. If I get some movement from another top investment firm, I'm gone.

Working on pursuing a fiber optic splicer cert from FOA. The course start at the end of the month. It's a three day class. The course cost $1,000.00. It's a lot of money but I know its going to be worth it.

I've been challenging any notion of developing new or adding on to any dashboard with shoddy data to the point I was feeling like I would be fired. Today, for one project I get a "Let's dial back production to focus on cleaning up the data" :blessed: Bout time hoe, I've been arguing with you for weeks now.

I'm glad I spoke up. We can't build effective dashboards with bullshyt data people. You don't have to listen to me, but I will say "I told you so" when I'm finally right.
