Never had to work so hard in my life just to get an interview. I've had to cold contact mad people on LinkedIn just to get a look. I know they're mad at me. :lolbron:

I been bugging one breh for weeks and he finally called me today.

Now I just need to nail this 1 on 1.

If I can land this ya boy gonna be hitting the Come Up Shuffle next to the 6 Figures 6 Certs 6 Pack 6 Series 6 Feet brehs with only one of those descriptions fitting me. :russ: :wow:

I was was in your situation a little more than a year ago because I was trying to transition from accounting to an FA role. Reaching out to randos. Making connections that went nowhere. Things finally picked up once I got close to 3 years at my old job. Also I upskilled dabbling in data analysis and hired a career coach to completely redo my resume and cover letter template. And like the damn broke beginning of 2021. Copped a Sr. FA job though was under market. Started that March of last year.

If you get it the next move is the one.

I wasn't even looking but end of February, recruiters from Disney and Spotify (actual recruiters from the company, not the bullshyt search firms) hit me up within 20 minutes of each other. Once I talked numbers with Spotify I was like:dwillhuh: after they told me what I'm asking for was under their minimum base for the position. After hearing that I'm like I need to be out of my current role. I'm leaving too much money on the table. I signed an offer letter at another company a week and half ago. When taking total compensation into account I'm gonna be making relatively close to 3x what I was making at the beginning of 2021. And my direct supervisor is a brehette. Which I'm super happy about.

Had a long meeting with HR, the head of engineering, and one of the lead engineers. HR wants us to interview for engineering roles and I’m confused about my part in it. I asked how am I going to ask them technical questions when they know more than me. Have a call with the recruiter tomorrow about it.

Also I asked her to share the list of current and upcoming job roles. Can someone tell me why there’s an IT engineer (staff/lead) position on this list for next month? Why hasn’t anyone told me about this or talked to me?

Just crushed four rounds of interviews last week and accepted verbally today

I’m not withdrawing from any other processes until I have all the paperwork sent off.

My former company is filing its eye pee yo but the financials are horrible, I’m moving to a much bigger company with better clients (fin services/hedge funds moving to tech clients, yeah, those tech clients (Faang)) and much better pay prestige and repute. I’m psyched, got my title of Sr Manager and a big pay bump they’re maxing me for the range

LA tech jobs pay the same as Texas tech jobs :scust:
There's a you should be lucky to have a job culture amongst employers in LA, so they're very reluctant to rise the salaries to market rate or above, because they know there's always an influx of talent / people coming and going trying make it in...

It's slowly starting change as employees leave mass exodus and positions are staying vacant a lot longer.

Random but I'm learning to use job keywords (ie "SQL querying") instead of job titles to get a wider variety of opportunities. Some companies are just shytty at labeling jobs and will be off the beaten path.

My guess is all of the companies with the standard job titles will be inundated with competition as those are the keywords the average job seeker while type in. OTOH, I'm guessing the companies that don't use the correct terminology for a role likely have less applicants which increases your odds brehs

I noticed that awhile back as well.

SQL yields a shyt ton more results than data analyst.

And the rising buzzword Data Scientist, yields more results with job descriptions that match a data analyst, because there's no talk of machine learning, any type of advanced regression analysis, or model training.
